Staff is great. Rooms are basic but good. Bed is very comfortable. Gym is far from good and the place is a bit noisy, still would recommend. Breakfast is fantastic!

Great place to stay

It is a charming hotel with very friendly service. I love the decor and many kinds of flowers. Located so close to the University - 5 minutes and you are on campus. Hotel will arrange tourist trips. Took one last time which was great (coffee plantation, volcanos etc). Would gladly stay there again.

charming & very convenient to UCR

Lovely little island of tranquility in the middle of San José! The hotel is right next to the University of Costa Rica and has a nice bistro-style restaurant on the grounds. Everyone is very friendly and completely fluent in English (maybe other languages, too!). The space includes a lovely courtyard with sculptures, and breakfast is included.

Breakfast was a nice blend of a modest buffett, combined with one menu entree item. Biggest drawback is Uber doesnt recognize the hotel and places you at the University but it is gated. So you have to walk to corner for pickups.

We made a pay-at-the-property reservation and provided the company card only as a guarantee. However, the property charged the full amount to the guarantee card, and when the guest arrived, they were told the stay was already paid for. The property should respect the reservation terms, because if we had wanted to prepay, we would have done so—as we have on many other occasions.
