Hotel Dunn Inn was lovely! Our room was clean and comfortable. We were within easy walking distance of central San Jose including museums and the pedestrian mall. The staff was friendly and helpful and we had access to secure free parking which was a bonus. Breakfast was also included! We highly recommend the Hotel Dunn Inn!

Really wonderful staff. It's an older hotel with a ton of character. Free and secure parking. Nice large rooms with good bathroom and hot water. Breakfast was very nice, a complete & very filling meal. The area is a bit shady with Casino across street, but if you're a savvy traveler it's fine and a good value for all the amenities needed for a quick stay.

The best thing about this hotel is the extremely friendly and courteous and helpful receptionist who very kindly let me have the room at 10 am in the morning. This hotel has all the basic amenities and is of a good standard for Latin America. The location is five minutes walk from the main street and didn’t feel unsafe although there are some visible homeless people on the street.

Room and amenities were fine. Staff was exceptional. What was totally unacceptable, and in fact HORRIBLE, was that the room was right next to the street where ALL NIGHT LONG and I mean, ALL NIGHT LONG people hung around raising hell. Racing motors. Extremely loud music and loud talking right outside the window. Impossible to sleep. I will not stay here again. If you do, DO NOT allow yourself to be put in room 27.

All staff was lovely except the deep voice guy at front desk was impatient or mysoginistic or something. Girl in cafe and housekeeping were amazing! Hotel has a very lively nightlife outside, but we enjoyed that, -feeling like we were part of the barrio. Fell asleep peacefully. The beds and bedding were 4☆ worthy! Really. We enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I returned to the Dunn Inn after 32 years. This hotel is where we spent the first night of our honeymoon. The place looked and felt the same. Very homey, beautiful wood everywhere, personal service and solid wifi. Breakfast was hearty but bland. Coffee not a true representation of good Costa Rican coffee. Parking was easy and secure. The neighborhood has changed a lot with the casino across the street, LOTS of people hanging around outside but we never felt unsafe. Just a lot of action. Walking distance to many wonderful sights and restaurants. Great stay. Brought back some memories!

Staff pleasant, nice and quiet, good location. AC worked fine though I did not need it,shower with warm water.Whenever I needed a repair light or batteries maintenance fixed it prompyly. I hope they can find an owner for the small dining area and the bar/restaurant.
