Bay Club Hotel & Marina

2131 Shelter Island Dr, San Diego - Map
"Older Hotel, Great View"
This hotel has an amazing view of the bay and small privately owned boats. There is a very small beach where you can make a fire but not to swim, too close to the private boats. I would definitely not want to swim here. Shelter Island is cute and only a 15 minute drive from downtown and 20-25 minute drive to most popular beaches like Oceanside and La Jolla. It's an older hotel so the bathroom is not very modern and does has some rust on the shower curtain rack and the shower head needed a little more cleaning. We only had service once and they wiped the counter and fixed the bed but no vacuuming because I notice that the broken eye shadow applicator I dropped the day before was still the in same exact spot. Staff was not informative of the hotel's amenities nor did they ask if we wanted any suggestions for place to see or eat. They were pleasant when asked questions but not very hospitable. The pool is very small though. They do have the cheapest parking on Shelter Island, $10/day.
