Gorgeous hotel with the friendliest staff who are very helpful and accommodating. Built in music/speakers in the bathroom was cool, bed very cozy, a little too much furniture stuffed into the room so had to move around to accommodate our luggage, but overall a lovely place to stay over Christmas 🎄excellent location, restaurant on site was superb as was the breakfast each morning.

Convenient to shops, food, and activities. We parked in a parking garage close to the hotel, but after checking in, we found that there was another garage that gave discounts to the guests. It was not mentioned before our visit, so it was a hassle. Our Expedia reservation wasn't showing when we arrived, so that was also a hassle. After some time, everything worked out, and we were free to explore the beautiful city. It is a gorgeous, well-cared-for old building with a cool layout and decor. There is a restaurant, bar, and outside dining. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was great. The building was going through exterior renovations, so the windows could not open. The a/c was woefully worthless (the temp was set and unmovable), and bc there wasn't a fan, the air sat still in the room and bathroom. Towels were available in a wardrobe in the hallway (this was great)! Would we stay again? Probably, but we will bring a fan. :)

The service was excellent! From front desk, bell hops, room service attendants and even the person who oversees the breakfast hours are all incredibly superb. The room was clean and well thought out. The only thing I can think of is you may need to request a roll away if you have a party of three and staying in the junior suite. I mistakenly thought there was a pull out sofa but the bed was big enough for us family of 3. We also had our breakfast included during our stay and it was delish! The hotel is close to everything. I was sad to leave because we were treated so kindly and they really went above and beyond. Thank you Hotel GH team for making us feel so welcome!! A across the board.

A beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town, with an unbeatable location that makes it easy to explore all the attractions of this incredibly historic and picturesque city. Our room was very clean and comfortable, although it felt a little cramped. As an older property, the hotel lacks some of the amenities found in more modern luxury hotels, such as a fitness center, pool, bar, and smart TV. The staff were polite and professional, but we found they offered limited local insight and few recommendations for discovering some of the town’s lesser-known or more unique experiences. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the charm, character, and exceptional location of the Goldener Hirsch. A wonderful choice for those seeking an authentic Salzburg experience, though at this price point we had expected a somewhat higher level of amenities and personalized service.

This claims to be a luxury hotel. It is NOT. More like a 4 star at the low end. The main restaurant only had seating on a patio on a busy street....the actual restaurant was closed up. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The room was so outdated...and things just didn't work properly.

I have stayed here for the last four years. Each year it has slowly become more expensive with less amazing. This year was the worst and I think it is time to find a new hotel to stay in. The rooms they have put me in become smaller and less useful. This year my room didn’t have a separate shower. I am 67 years old and it was very difficult to step over the tub to wash off. Never mind trying not to fall down once inside the tub. My room created a leak in the entrance way. They said that they had no staff to fix the problem because it was 6pm. There solution was to put a towel on the floor which was later replaced with a plastic bucket. I got zero sleep because of the dripping into the plastic bucket was unbearable. It felt like torture. I don’t understand why they didn’t put me into another room. To add insult to injury. The next morning the fire alarm went off while I was washing myself off in the tub. I found out later that the alarm initiated in my room. The fire detector was on the ceiling right next to the water leak. I don’t know if the water leaking had anything to do with the activation of the fire alarm. I didn’t do anything differently than the previous days that I washed myself off. But they said that the alarm went off because of the steam from the hot water. Again this is supposed to be a luxury hotel. This year I paid for two rooms and I am coming back to Salzburg in December. I am extremely disappointed with my stay and asked to speak with the manager unavailab

The hotel is a small property that is very uderstated and elegant. It is very Austrian and the staff bends over backwards to accommodate you. We were quite happy to stay there and will certainly return.
