Good spot but very expensive

We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights but it certainly isn’t 5* but the restaurant prices are for mediocre food! We were on B&B basis thankfully so after first night ate out at excellent local restaurants at sensible prices. You need reef shoes on the beach and in the lagoon but even just standing you can see a great array of fish so snorkelling is excellent. We even saw a humpback whale just beyond the reef.

Excellent breakfast, lots of drink choices and smoothies. Pool was great, didn’t have any challenges getting a sunbed. The rooms were super clean, we didn’t see a single bug (which we were expecting). Had a gecko in the room who lived behind our tv who may have managed the bug situation. Buffet was good but limited selection if you are, or have, a picky eater.

Mixed experience

Lovely location and staff were all very helpful and friendly, food was also good. However as other reviews have said the rooms could certainly do with an update, they're not 5 star quality. Also it was our honeymoon which we'd told them before arriving - they said by email that we could have some 'freebies' on production of our marriage certificate but there was no mention of it when we checked in or at any other point during our stay and so we were never given the opportunity to prove that it was our honeymoon and receive whatever 'freebies' they were offering. In comparison, the hotel where we stayed next in Mauritius offered us on arrival the opportunity to have a complimentary candle-lit dinner and provided us with champagne and other gifts, without requiring us to prove that it was our honeymoon.

This is the place to be. Make sure to book a massage in the free nature which includes the sound of the sea, the birds and the wind. Comes close to heaven.

We had a good stay but this is not a 5 star hotel! Peeling paint, smallish dark rooms that haven't been updated since a very long time and all that not exactly cheap. Breakfast was not bad, we had dinner once and that was pricey but good. All up it seemed tired and in need of renovations.

Hotel bonito pero para un 5 estrellas deberian mejorar algunos aspectos: check-in muy lento; desayuno muy flojo y descontrol por parte del personal. Otro tema importante: es un hotel para relax pero cuando coincides en la piscina con mogollon de niños gritando, el descanso y la paz, desaparecen.

Nous avons passé plusieurs nuits au LUX Saint-Gilles* et nous avons vraiment beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. L’emplacement est exceptionnel, directement face au lagon et à l’une des plus belles plages de l’île, idéal pour le snorkeling avec les poissons, d’autant que l’hôtel prête masques et tubas. Le parc tropical est magnifique et la grande piscine est superbe, parfaite pour se détendre après les excursions dans l’ouest de l’île. Les chambres sont très spacieuses et confortables, même si certaines infrastructures pourraient être légèrement modernisées pour être totalement au niveau du lieu. Le petit déjeuner face à l’océan est excellent et le service est très agréable, avec un accueil soigné et une présentation complète de l’hôtel à l’arrivée. Quelques évolutions seraient appréciables, comme des tenues du personnel plus modernes ou des activités nautiques supplémentaires type kayak ou paddle, mais l’ensemble reste un très beau complexe hôtelier haut de gamme, idéalement situé pour profiter de Saint-Gilles et de son lagon.

Chambre sale en arrivant avec de l urine sur les toilettes, tasse de café non lavée, un peignoir taché. Une souris dans le resto Un buffet de mauvaise qualité surtout le soir Nourriture pas du tout adaptée à 5 étoiles. Une serrure de chambre qui marche pas!! « Je vais faire remonter l information » elle n est jamais redescendue !!! Certains employés de l hôtel très sympa, d autres exécrables. Très déçu..
