Air conditioned jewel

Excellent little hotel with a very good restaurant, friendly helpful staff. Rooms slightly dated but clean and well maintained. Well stocked bar in a quiet little lounge off the restaurant. The addition of air conditioning, by far from ubiquitous in similar properties, was a godsend in the hot summer.

Restaurant with rooms but the restaurant was shut

This is really a restaurant with rooms, this is quite a common feature in France especially close to the Motorway system. The idea being you break your journey from south to north or vice a versa, stop have a good meal with wine and after the meal there is a bedroom. We arrived just as the lunch service was being checked out a little early but we had made good progress on the motorway. A cursory here is your room key was followed by did you get my email, no, Oh the restaurant is closed tonight. I then checked my emails to see if there was one I had missed, no no email, I queried this with the hotel, who then blamed Hotels.com. I then asked was there anywhere which served food tonight! Thankfully the local Cafe in the town Centre served food and were very welcoming. Food was not the Haute cuisine we had hoped for but it was warm and wholesome. Back to bed for an early night as there was no service available. I know that the French do not have a high idea about the bathroom but this beats our all time record for bad design and compactness. I admit to being a large chap, but you had to be a contortionist to use the shower or the lavatory. The bathroom was shoe horned in to the minimum amount of space, yet you could have had a party in the unnecessary hanging space. Undaunted we headed for breakfast where we were pointed in to the breakfast room and left to our own devices. No contact at all. On check out the most junior person served us to get our money and we went.

HĂŽtel Restaurant Ă  retenir

Nous passons chaque année à Argenton sur Creuse, nous avons essayé tous les hÎtels et ceux des alentours. Mais, nous ne sommes jamais déçus par le Prieuré. L'accueil, la propreté, les petits-déjeuners sont top, rien ne manque, il y en a pour tous les goûts : sucré ou salé. De plus, on y mangent trÚs bien, la cuisine du restaurant utilise des produits locaux, ce qu'on apprecie particuliÚrement, ainsi que le professionnalisme et la bonne humeur du personnel. Bref, une bonne adresse que je recommande.

Mauvais concours de circonstances. J avais rĂ©servĂ© plusieurs semaines Ă  l avance dans le cadre d un Road trip. J avais prĂ©cisĂ© souhaiter une chambre calme. Effet canicule entre temps. L hĂŽtel m avait informĂ© 10 jours avant mon sĂ©jour par mail que la clim dans les chambres Ă©taient cassĂ©e. Nous Ă©tions les deuxiĂšmes arrivants. Et une chambre sur parking m a Ă©tĂ© attribuĂ©e. Un ventilateur avait Ă©tĂ© installĂ© dans la chambre. Mais impossible de garder les fenĂȘtres fermĂ©es mĂȘme avec un ventilateur. Nous avons donc dormi la fenĂȘtre ouverte sur parking avec voitures partant tĂŽt et rĂ©verbĂšres allumĂ©s. J aurais pu ne rien dire mais 
 des chambres avec vue sur jardin existaient et auraient permis de dormir, un chien a gĂ©mit toute la nuit dans une chambre adjacente, et le patron que j ai vu au moment du paiement ne m a mĂȘme pas demandĂ© comment s Ă©tait passĂ© le sĂ©jour, ou proposĂ© un geste commercial. En rĂ©sumĂ© les moins sont les Ă©quipements et le patron. Les plus sont le reste du personnel trĂšs agrĂ©able et avenant et la carte du restaurant.

Belle Ă©tape gourmande.

Belle étape gourmande. A ne pas manquer le restaurant de l'hÎtel et sa célÚbre poule noire du Berry avec sa sauce aux truffes. Les chambres ont une excellente literie et les salles de bain sont fonctionnelles et spacieuses. Un excellent rapport qualité prix pour l'ensemble.

We waren met 3personen en ik had kamer 14 op de benedenverdieping en mijn dochter en schoonzoon zaten een verdieping hoger. Mijn kamer was ruim schoon enbed was ruim en sliep heerlijk. De kamer op de boven verdieping was heel erg klein en niet erg schoon . Jammer want daardoor hebben ze minder goed geslapen. De kamer no 14 zal ik bij een volgende reservering zeker weer willen en er ook naar vragen.,

Évitez à tout prix le restaurant.

Chambre, propretĂ©, petit dĂ©jeuner : ras, plutĂŽt bien mĂȘme si un peu cher. Quelle dĂ©ception pour le restaurant. Un menu Ă  26€ mĂ©rite autre chose qu un morceau de melon avec une tranche de jambon et une coupe de fraises avec de la crĂšme fouettĂ©e. Le restaurant veut la jouer gastronomique mais il n y a aucune finition dans l assiette. Un autre exemple : sur la carte le restaurant propose un accord mets et vins. Nous avions choisi cette formule. 3 plats, 3 verres de vins diffĂ©rents. Nous avons pu bĂ©nĂ©ficier du premier verre avec l entrĂ©e. Rien avec la viande en revanche. Lorsque nous l avons fait remarquer la responsable rĂ©torque qu'il s'agit d'un oubli et nous propose le vin alors que le plat est fini ce que nous refusons. Au dessert, nouvel oubli que je suspecte d'ĂȘtre volontaire du fait de notre remarque prĂ©cĂ©dente. Par contre sur l'addition figure les trois verres. Je le fais remarquer et lĂ  pas une excuse,pas un geste commercial pour nous offrir les 2 verres servis. Lamentable.
