Very lovely staff and fun gothic Western accommodations! Next time we will get the vegan food abd stay longer! Thank you Juliette and the lovely gal from NYC!
Staff was great and the historic building was really nice. I do think they need to clean and maintain things better. Another hostel I stayed at apart of the HI system would clean their bathrooms twice a day. To be fair the other hostel probably had more traffic but I don't think they cleaned the bathrooms in this hostel once the entire time I was staying, for 3-4 days.
All around fantastic. Best place I’ve ever stayed. While I had the solo “nugget” room to spoil myself, I would have no issues sharing a room with anyone else. Large parking area, clean, comfy, large kitchen, etc. just great.
I only wish the parking was free.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Generally a great atmosphere in the hostel. Very nice place to stay especially for the price.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The staff was incredibly kind and this is no fault of theirs, but it needs to be said: This hostel is completely inaccessible for physically disabled people.
There are three flights of stairs with no elevator, and you would think there’s some level of accessibility for those with mobility aids given that it says the hostel is “wheelchair accessible (with limitations)” but there are ONLY limitations. Zero accessibility. There aren’t even ramps for the front door, you’re required to go up more stairs to get into the building.
It’s an impossible stay if you rely on a mobility aid and/or cannot do long treks up stairs. Don’t stay here if you are disabled or have any physical limitations that would make this as awful and painful for you as it was for me.
The hostel and property are absolutely beautiful! A rare find in a downtown area. Clean, quiet, and affordable. The hosts were so sweet. I will definitely stay here again, should I ever need an overnight stay in the downtown Sacramento area!
