Castillos en Ruthwell

“We had a fantastic stay at The Old Rectory. Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was the most comfortable we had in a 3 week tour of the UK! The host, Dave was lovely. So helpful in recommending local sights, and made a wonderful breakfast and coffee in the morning. The location was fantastic as well, Easy to walk to the High Street, beautiful bridge and walking trails, Annan museum, and restaurants etc. Thank you!”

“You get such a warm welcome from the owner, she makes you feel so at home straight away. The rooms we had were so clean and ideal for our stay. The rooms were warm and so quiet. The breakfast was so nicely cooked and tasty. This is a must stop if staying in this locality”

“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”

“Very nice room, good selection and quality of food for breakfast and lunch.”

“Perfect place”

“We had a great stay. Our hosts were fantastic!”

“Lovely old house, the bedrooms were warm and cosy and the breakfast was exceptional”

“El propietario Derek es encantador y ayuda en todo lo que necesites. El desayuno es estupendo, te tratan con mucho cariño”

“The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly...

“A mix of old and new - breakfast room / restaurant is gorgeous. Secure key card entry to rooms/lifts which is always great.”

“A great location with Lovely staff:)”

“The room was lovely but the sink in the en-suite was tiny & hard to get a wash or clean your teeth in without getting water everywhere. The front of the sink unit was already water damaged. The shower was good & easy to use. The lady who greeted us was very helpful & friendly especially as we forgot to take our key out with us & had to ask her to let us in to our room. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. There was a good choice for breakfast which was cooked to order”

“Room was clean room and Staff very hospitable and a Business-friendly environment although location is a bit off road but accessible. Will patronize again when going to Scotland”

“Enjoyable three night break. Friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable bed , room cleaned every day and were allowed to park at the hotel next door. As previously mentioned they serve a great breakfast . Five minute drive to town centre but pub and takeaway nearby. Will book again next time that we visit Dumfries.”
