A slightly confusing booking process. The rooms are not a part of the pub but are slightly behind/to the left. Staff when checking in seem to assume you know where you are going. This would be the case if the car park was clearer and directed you to the entrance rather than the one you see from the road. The pub is great and food excellent. Room was clean, large and very comfortable. Shower took some getting to used to but once you're sorted it works well. Will stay again

Not at all Peculiar!

Unfortunately I had eaten enroute so did not dine in the nicely furnished olde style pub which took orders until 20.30 but, despite my 20.20 arrival I was given opportunity to eat. The bed was very comfortable. An armchairxwas provided in addition to a chair.

Nice, clean with a nice local pub right across the courtyard. Very handy. However the pub is only open limited hours and no where else to eat within walking distance except a fish n chips joint. We stayed in apartment 3. Suited our family of 4 well, but note there is no mini fridge or micro that a family might hope for. Walls are thin too but not a big deal.

The room was bright and airy and very clean. Although the re was no-one to welcome us the key was left in the door. The only real negative was the shower. It was very small and a bit of a struggle manoeuvring the door to actually get in it!! However, the location was good for us and also being a pub was handy for food. Overall a pleasant stay.

Good place to stay for a few days visiting Lichfield (3.5 miles from the city). Comfortable room, good food and pleasant helpful staff.

Excellent Find!

This was a great find at a reasonable price. Stayed in the family/suite room. The room had everything you could want including a detailed book of information for the hotel and local attractions. Food was also good and reasonable. Hotel does not currently offer breakfast. Overall, Fantastic! Would stay again :)

Comfortable & welcoming

The Old Peculiar offers excellent, comfortable room-only facilities, breakfast not being available. This suited our purpose for a family visit, & the atmosphere & evening meals are worthy of note.

When I booked the room it was because there was a restaurant I don’t stay anywhere I can’t have a meal. When I got here the restaurant was closed on this day, no where on the site did it say this, I was furious as been driving all day and wouldn’t of stayed here if i had known

Lovely village atmosphere

Lovely quiet village pub. Rooms excellent, clean and well equipped and maintained. Breakfast cooked to order, delicious food. Staff helpful and friendly. The pub is nice, locals friendly. Want to book for next year.
