Just spent a couple of days in Rome, Piccolo Imperiale was a great pick,the owner met us on arrival and was really helpful,local cafes bars to serve our requirements, hotel was superb rooms immaculate and bed sheets changed daily, would highly recommend to anyone.

Small but cozy

The hotel is in a good location, short distance to the buses to the airport. There is a Tax, I had to pay there, not sure why. I never encounter to pay extra tax, the Filipino, in charge of the receptionist, very attentive, very nice guy. They need to have a bigger sign of the hotel hard to find the first time. The room is very small, and the shower extremely small. Overall, very clean.

The only issue we had was that there was nobody available when we wanted to check and waited 40 minutes, after being asked what time we were checking in 4 times. The number provided for assistance did not connect and then we were told to call another number as a management company seems to be running multiple guest rooms like this. When the staff did arrive they were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The room itself was nice and clean, though the fridge did not seem to work, but the location is the main attraction of the property being only a 10 minute walk from the Vatican and handy to walk into the rest of Rome.

You get what you pay for. It’s affordable and just what we needed as we only stayed in the room to shower and sleep. The breakfast was decent. The gentleman manning the breakfast was kind. I tried many many times to contact the property prior to our stay to take advantage of the option for airport transfer and no one got back to me until the day before we arrived. So the response time beforehand was not the best. The main thing we didn’t like was the shower. Don’t expect to bend over to reach your legs during a shower because you can’t. It was literally 2ft x 2ft. Overall decent place to stay. Close to bus stop and very walkable to many sites.
