The owner sent us several messages during the day of check-in to notify us that due to other cancellations he had to relocate us in a different room. The final room assignment was at a different address than the one listed on Expedia. The premises are in a very remote location that could only be accessed through a rough bumpy road. The room was in a house shared by other guests. The cooking smells coming from the shared kitchen were unbearable. The bedroom was very outdated and the sliding door bedroom lock made us feel unsafe as it could have been easily broken into. The surrounding area is beautiful, despite the pool, which looks more like a kids' paddling pool.

Ivano e sua moglie Terry ci hanno accolto in maniera eccellente e per tutto il soggiorno ci hanno fatto sentire in famiglia. Le camere sono accoglienti e pulite. Gli spazi esterni curati e rinfrescati dall’ombra di un enorme gelso. Cene all’insegna della convivialità a base di piatti tradizionali. Un po’ di relax e aria buona ci voleva proprio, anche per il nostro cagnone Amy.

Ivano and Tehri take good care of their guests to ensure that they have the best Italian experience possible. We have stayed with them three times and have always enjoyed our visits. They provide great tours to places that the average tourist never gets to take. They make you feel at home even though you are half a world away.

They make your stay so personal you feel like you are at home even though you are thousands of miles away. Do not miss out on the evening meal experience. Rome is literally a stones throw away. These people are so nice. Listen to what they say on what to see and do.

Our visit to Olive Tree was like being part of the family with whom we stayed. It was totally delightful. No one could have been nicer. I would have preferred some more updates there, but the family worked so hard at taking care of us it became very special. Our hosts drove us to our dinner locations; took us to the trains; helped us with our language barriers; took us to the best sites in Italy. If you're looking for a cozy family place, this is it. Zagarolo offers some very unique history and some wonderful restaurants.

Beautiful setting and Wonderful Hosts

I want to start this review by stating that we arrived and stayed through a period of rain every day so we were unable to appreciate the outdoor beauty of this location but that did not stop our host from being most gracious and our stay from being comfortable. The owner and his wife are wonderful hosts and their villa is set amongst the olive trees as the name implies. The room was spacious with high ceilings and the breakfast was excellent, with discussion filled with local culture and history of the region. Also offered are other services such as transfers to/from train station and airport if requested as well as tours and cooking classes! We planned on taking a midnight walking tour of Rome but decided against it due to the rain in the region. Definitely plan to come back one day and take advantage of this tour next time! If you are looking for a place to stay, off the beaten path, and learn about the region and have a wonderful host, look no further!
