I love that this is a repurposed elementary school! It was clean, roomy for the two of us (and our dogs). Plenty of grassy area. We are notbeer drinkers but the brewery is a great idea and looked like a nice patio to hang out in if it had been warmer. It is also convenient for a quick drive to downtown. We have already referred a friend to this place and would stay again if we return to Roanoke.

I was in apt 102 and the door to the bathroom facing the kitchen got jammed and I couldn’t open it when I was inside. I thought the second door was just a closet lol but luckily it led to the bedroom and I could leave. Also I felt like the booking process could have been clearer about filling out the form in order to be sent access codes.

Great stay great place. 5 stars. But if you really want to get picky, there is room for improvement: 1. Add shade curtains. 2. Raise beds higher. 3. Clean/wipe counters better. 4. Dont leave stinky cleaning carts in the basement apartments hallway. Its stinky. 5. Add a bidet would be a plus.

The room was in an old government bldg repourposed with apartments. Nice space. Comfortable bed. Couple things...no wash cloths, nightstand light switch broken so my phone didn't charge. Check in. Online check in was tedious

I recently returned from my stay at West End Flats. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The unit was clean and very well maintained. I felt very safe. And the building is charming being it’s an old elementary school building. Communication was swift and reliant. I forgot a few things in the unit and they are shipping them to me no questions asked. That is outstanding customer service. If I could rate it more than 5 stars.. I would! Thank you West End Flats!!

The stay was great the ONLY thing was the dryer vent had hair from the previous tenant and it got into my clothes . Other than that it was an awesome stay , I can’t wait to book here again

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The West End Flats in Roanoke, VA, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and eager to ensure my stay was flawless. The property itself is beautifully renovated, offering a perfect blend of modern amenities with the charm of its historic setting. The apartment-style accommodations are spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed with every detail in mind—from the comfortable furnishings to the fully equipped kitchen that made my stay feel like a true home away from home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere that allowed for restful nights. What truly set The West End Flats apart, however, was the sense of community and convenience. The location is perfect—just a short walk to downtown Roanoke, with its excellent dining, shops, and attractions. Free parking and a brewery on site are an amazing plus! Yet, the peaceful neighborhood offered a quiet retreat after a day of exploration. I cannot recommend The West End Flats highly enough for anyone visiting Roanoke. Whether you’re in town for business, a weekend getaway, or an extended stay, it’s the perfect place to relax and recharge. I will definitely be returning!

Check-in is definitely at 3pm, just like they say! I arrived a little early and found that the code didn’t work until the clock struck three. Totally on me—I should’ve reached out ahead of time. Honestly, it gave me a chance to unwind for a bit while I sat in my car, which was kind of nice. The apartment itself is absolutely lovely! The space is full of charm, the bed was super comfy, and the windows let in the most beautiful light. It felt like a little retreat. There were just a few small things I noticed—a lot of crumbs on the coffee table from previous guests, no washcloths that I could find, a tiny stain on the sheets that looked like spaghetti (which, if it was spaghetti, sounds like a good time to me!), the wrong kind of coffee filters for the machine (it uses #4 cone filters), and the pull chain on the bedside lamp is missing. But truly, those are minor details compared to the overall experience. The building is so unique, the AC kept everything perfectly cool, and having a brewery literally 11 steps from the room was *chef's kiss*. The location is amazing, too. I’d happily stay here again and look forward to it! omg - I forgot mention THERE'S A CEILING FAN!!! Bonus points right thur.
