There was mold everywhere! Even after moving rooms there was still mold. Major health concern. Despite the conditions, the staff was amazing and always went above and beyond to help us. Certainly the hotel’s saving grace.

The Hotel Martinique Copacabana is in a great location. It's just behind a beach front apartment so it's a stone's throw away from the famous beach. It's also a short bus or UBER ride away from all the major tourist attractions: Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain etc. It's generally a comfortable enough hotel but the rooms are small and the bathrooms, in particular were extremely small First and foremost, the staff is what makes this hotel better than average. Excellent hotel! Located close to the beach. Comfy beds and best of all quiet at night. The shower pressure for water in the shower was outstanding! Everything was walkable. There was a grocery store and pharmacy on the same block. They have a list of safe local tour operators that are excellently priced and make all arrangements for you. The buffet breakfast was top notch as was dinner. Highly recommend 👌 The only draw back is this hotel is busy, if you arrive on an early morning flight its difficult to get an early check-in. However, the staff are quite hospitable and will store your bags and you can wait at the roof top pool. The Manager was wonderful and did get us in for 130pm although check in is 3pm. Excellent hotel overall. I would definitely stay again!
