Bathroom was not cleaned from previous guest (soap build up next to the faucet, shampoo bottle half empty, hairs in/around shower, previous guest’s towel hanging behind door) which made me question the cleanliness of everything else. Everything was nice. There was no free breakfast , but the hotel was just renovated . Should be a microwave in every room though. I believe my room was upgraded as I had two double beds, which were very comfortable

The property was empty for a period. A few areas were renovated and the hotel was reopened. The rooms are well renovated and clean. The elevator however was not working. The front desk attendant just shrugged and apologized. No one offered help for the elderly clients with mobility issues with their luggage up the stairs. Other than the renovated floors, the rest of the building (restaurant and pool area) looks abandoned.

There were no lamps in the room. We had to get out of bed to turn off the lights and find our way back to bed in the dark. Every time one of the adjoining rooms turned on the water, you would hear the noise. When people talked in the corridor, you would hear the noise. The refrigerator was noisy. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.

I hadn't been in Gouverneurs in awhile, I don't think I will for a long time. Old property and facilities, I felt like nothing had change for at least 20 years. No coffee in the room, I had to pay for one in the lobby... No iron. But on a positive note, the staff was courteous, and the bed very comfortable.
