The room was newly renovated, beds were firm. Very quiet and the check in and out was very easy. Only thing missing was a restaurant in the hotel. Pacino next door wasn’t serving breakfast on a Thursday so we had to drive out to eat.

The hotel is ok. It needs an update. The white popcorn walls and ceiling were plain to see and no paintings or photos on wall. The bathroom also needs renovation. Funny to see size of closet door as entrance into the bathroom. But besides it being outdated, the room was very clean, and the mattresses and pillows were very comfortable.

Bathroom was not cleaned from previous guest (soap build up next to the faucet, shampoo bottle half empty, hairs in/around shower, previous guest’s towel hanging behind door) which made me question the cleanliness of everything else. Property in general state of poor maintenance. Front desk staff friendly and very well located.

Hotel was closed for 4 years, then reopened in 2025 for renovation. Signs of ongoing renovation are clearly visible. So I thought we would be in a renovated area, but no… it’s clean, but stinky smell in the rooms - I thought I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep. Beds and pillows we’re very comfortable, linen and towels in good condition and clean too. So for the price and given we were visiting friends, the stay is ok. I wouldn’t recommend for family…

We recently stayed at Hôtel Gouverneur Rimouski and overall had a good experience for the price. The location of the hotel is excellent and made it easy to get around Rimouski. Our room was spacious, clean, and the air conditioning worked very well, which was appreciated during the warmer weather. There were a few areas where the hotel could improve. The mini fridge in our room didn’t seem to get very cold, and while coffee is available in the lobby for $2 from a vending machine, it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room. Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay, and the courtyard, which was the view from our window, looked like it had seen better days and could use some attention. Overall, this was a comfortable stay and offered good value for the money. With a few updates and small improvements, it could be an even better experience.

Everything was nice. There was no free breakfast , but the hotel was just renovated . Should be a microwave in every room though. I believe my room was upgraded as I had two double beds, which were very comfortable

The property was empty for a period. A few areas were renovated and the hotel was reopened. The rooms are well renovated and clean. The elevator however was not working. The front desk attendant just shrugged and apologized. No one offered help for the elderly clients with mobility issues with their luggage up the stairs. Other than the renovated floors, the rest of the building (restaurant and pool area) looks abandoned.

Location was easy to find. I know the property was just recently reopened, however, some rooms have coffee pots and some do not, charging $2.00 for a coffee for the rooms that do not is not realistic. Still no pool and no breakfast.

This hotel will most likely close within the next year or so, which is most unfortunate because the rooms and hallways have been renovated and it is on the waterfront of the St Lawrence river. There were very few guests, ( 6 vehicles in the parking lot ) the pool and surrounding patio have not been maintained for at least a year and one could see that the windows on the lower floors of the hotel were covered on the inside with plastic. Nevertheless, the lone staff at the reception was helpful and welcoming.
