The hotel is located on a street where taxis are not allowed, so be prepared to walk with your luggage to get there. The lobby is very small, with no place to sit. There is always a strong smell of food—like from a kitchen—in the hallways and elevator areas. The rooms are small and dirty, with a stained and dirty sofa. I did not feel comfortable at all in this hotel.

Perfect location!

Great hotel in the hear of Reykjavik! Walking distance to all the sights and multiple restaurants/bars around. Room was modern and clean and they even gave us champagne when we arrived! Magnificent hotel!

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is a bit hard to find as there are no big signs but we did. Right on the Main Street with shopping and restaurants nearby and easy walking to multiple bus stops.

The Ion is a small boutique styled hotel. With wonderful staff, impeccable rooms and the most comfortable bed you’ll ever experience. Located in the heart of Reykjavik you’ll have easy access to tours, shopping, restaurants and bars. Nothing but great things to say.

The hotel was great. The room was spacious and located on one of the main shopping streets, so there were many restaurant options nearby as well. The lady at the reception (forgot to ask for her name!) was the highlight of the stay. Her customer service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
