This hotel is a little older but clean and we had a very desirable 4 person room with 4 twin beds - two in a loft area up a set of stairs. The bathroom was small but that is not unusual. We particularly loved and enjoyed the game room with ping pong, plastic axe throwing and and giant version of a guessing game. My two adult children, husband and self really liked this place. It was our first stay on our ring road trip. Parking was free and easy.

The location was good. It is around 10 minutes away from downtown area. The rooms were decent but felt the barroom to be small. The breakfast was really good with fresh good choices. Highly recommend.

The place is next to a Bonus store for snacks. The hop on and off bus is 10 minutes away (bus stop #7 and #13). It's more residential vibes. Breakfast is an amazing sampler of breads, butter and marmalades. Coffee and tea available during the day. You can drop off your bags before 3pm check in so you start exploring the city. Very close to the boardwalk next to the water area. The layout of the room is not modern but it does the job. Restroom is in the lobby if needed. Booking excursions is nice when the bus driver of the tour/activity picks up/drops off from the hotel, no additional walking needed.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. They even lent us an adapter when we couldn't locate our own. Check-in/check-out were a breeze. Though the room might be considered basic for some, it was very cozy, very clean, and well kept. We were travelling in a group of 3, which can limit your choices in Reykjavik, but Orkin was perfect for us. Perfect location to walk into downtown. A huge grocery store/Bonus is literally a block away. When hotels offer a free breakfast, this can be hit-and-miss, but that was not the case at Orkin. Breakfast had a great variety of delicious and filling food. Very handy to have a parking lot as well. Great value for price; we would definitely stay again.

Not too far from the attractions. Easy parking lot right out front. Staff was very nice and we enjoyed the standard Icelandic breakfast buffet. They also served afternoon cake/coffee. Higher up floors can have a beautiful view of the mountain and the sea. It's an older building with an interesting loft layout. Bathroom was very small and cramped. If you have big luggage you'll have to take two trips in the small elevator. There should be a fan in the rooms otherwise it gets stuffy. We had to keep the window open and ended up hearing noise from the street.

This is a clean, comfortable hotel in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Klambratún park and the Kjarvalsstaðir art museum. Parking is very convenient in a lot next to the hotel. The staff is helpful and friendly.
