Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. No lift- too many stairs. Entrance was dirty with lots of cigarette butts. No staff on site- my travel partners couldn’t stay in there room because of a heater maul function- too much heat- like an oven. Management was no help and so friends had to stay elsewhere! My expectations were different based on website,didn’t expect to be in a business area with no services.

Great if exploring Iceland in a car. Otherwise 40 min walk to the city centre of Reykjavik. Virtual check in and check out with a helpline if needed. Clean and spacious room. Shower doesn’t smell great but believe this is common in Iceland.

READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE BOOKING! Its a self serve hotel with no staff on site, if you can believe that. In 40+ years of booking lodging I had never heard of such a thing. No information was posted at the entrance and no one answered repeated knocking. Never made it inside so I can't comment on that, but the outside was not clean. It reminded me of walking by a skid row like establishments. We had to find another hotel, fortunately we found a reliable establishment with actual staff present. It was clean and comfortable inside and out, was reasonably priced and include an excellent breakfast each morning. When I contacted the Arctic Comfort for a refund, I was told to read the fine print in the confirmation email. Sure enough there it was, my bad for assuming it was a real hotel. There are too many trustworthy establishments in Reykjavík to bother with this place. Stay away!

This is an ok hotel if you're on a tight budget. When we arrived, our code didn't work, so we had to call and email the staff to get that sorted out. The bed was a king size and was comfortable. I've been asked to review breakfast, but we weren't told about any breakfast at this hotel. Be advised: there is no elevator, which was fine for us, but we weren't aware of that beforehand. The hotel is far from downtown, and in an area that doesn't offer much for travellers. The entryway is unassuming/offputting and smells strongly of cigarettes. The vending machine on the first landing is broken, with the glass smashed out. There are still shards of glass in the machine. The hallways were filthy. The room had an oven and a fridge. There is shampoo and conditioner provided. The shower is open style and elevated above the rest of the floor, so the water cascades down around the toilet and onto the carpet in the main area. The sofa bed for our son was actually just an L shaped sofa. The sofa was covered in stains from extensive previous liquid spills of some variety. I wouldn't sit on that sofa, never mind sleep on it. A duvet and pillows were provided but no sheet. When I called the staff, they directed me to go get bedding out of a bureau in the hall. It was empty except for some toilet paper and a duvet cover. They told me to use the duvet cover as a sheet.

SCAM ALERT! Super dirty floor when we entered the room. Washroom stinks as soon as you turn the water on. Rooms come with fully renovated and modern amenities including a Nespresso Coffee Machine which is the last thing they should’ve been concerned about. Booking was 2 nights unfortunately and we even wrote a message to clean the second day but still absolutely nothing was done about that. Infect, they wanted us to let them know what time we were going to check out the next morning so that they can have the room ready for next guest when the check out time clearly states 11:00 AM. Also TV turned on by itself and someone from different room was controlling the TV. We talked to multiple people there who said they had the same issue as well. In short, do not fall for the pictures and try to stay away from this place as much as you can.

We had trouble getting into the building as our code did not work. That was quickly resolved after a phone call. The place was clean and comfortable. Beds were super comfortable. There was an oven, but no fridge, cooking utensils or sink to clean up dishes.

The shower and bathroom are only about 3 meters in total length, so be advised that everything during a shower will get wet. Otherwise, amenities were fine; however, the room was extremely hot. Regardless of opening the small window, it remained hot. The only compensation was to also keep the main door open, but that opened you up to hotel thieves, etc. I called the main reception, but they weren’t able to get us a fan or fix the issue.

Terrible washroom layout. Everything gets soaked including the toilet. Need to request cleaning in advance and early check in also costs extra. Sketchy location as well. The power also goes off if you plug in too many devices. Poor lighting in the room. Overall, would not recommend unless you’re on a tight budget. Parking is the only perk.

Uninhabitable due to 90 degrees F temp due to broken thermostat. There is no staff on site only a call center. No one ever came to fix the problem and we were left scrambling looking for a hotel room at night in a foreign country two nights in a row. It was stressful, inconvenient and very expensive as hotels were booked. The property was dirty. Do not recommend to anyone.
