The location was perfect and generally the hotel was pleasant with helpful staff. Sadly however after we returned each of us suffered bed bug bites and one of us had to see a GP due to the discomfort suffered they need to fumigate

Slept well and bed was good but the property is looking a little tired and wasn’t the cleanest. It’s a budget hotel and I got a good night’s sleep so it ticked the box for me. Just don’t expect the Ritz!

The room was very clean and comfortable, staff very friendly.
My first room was not good, no hangers, no teaspoons, felt very very poor value, I informed the staff who were excellent, I was then put in another room to complete my stay, now that room was amazing, 4 poster bed, really fab.

The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the light breakfast. Definitely will stay again.
Great bar restaurant downstairs. I was staying alone but was made to feel very welcome and looked after by the staff. For the price, I thought the room was great. Incredible location only 10 minute walk from the station. And the continental breakfast in the morning was perfect. Can’t really complain at all. Thank you guys it was brilliant.
We have been here before, this time we paid for a better room and it was loads better. If we are in Reading again we will use this Hotel.

While the hotel is older, the rooms are spacious, the people are so helpful with bringing bags early, nice check-in etc. the restaurant is great and breakfast is free. Very nice all round!

Comfy bed and clean. Soundproofing could be improved but for be the price and location it's not bad. Didn't try the brekkie so can't comment but it was continental only.

Lovely staff, a few problems with the room but the staff swiftly sorted that out. Also had a miscommunication about timing of breakfast which meant I then missed it, however the staff kindly got me some fruit and yoghurt.
Attentive and friendly staff. Historic building, lots of character. Breakfast was croissants, muffins, toast, juice and great strong coffee!
The bed was huge and comfy, no street noise.
Close to restaurants in town.
Definitely recommend this hotel, it’s different and quirky with a big personality.
Decent bed and shower, nice enough staff, and overall an average hotel stay.
I’m giving it three stars because I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast. I had higher expectations when it said breakfast was included, but there was very little available. The selection was really small and there was hardly anything to choose from.
The breakfast buffet definitely needs improvement. That said, the stay itself wasn’t bad overall.
