We were pleasingly surprised. Took a guided English walk with the city tourist information which was very enlightening. Definitely eat at the 750 year old Wurstkuckl Resta at the bridge- it was quick, tasty and inexpensive. Try the sweet mustard!

The town has a lot of history so get the World Heritage guide book on Regensburg and spend a day or two touring the city on your own.
