We came in late and the check in process was very easy. Room was well sized and clean. Property is definitely more of an older motel style. Was nice that it’s next to the Petrified Forest. There really isn’t anything food wise that’s super close so be prepared if you have young kids.

The place really needs to be updated, the deck feels like it's going to fall apart, it was missing a slat of wood in the corner. The couch needed to be vacuumed. The air conditioners worked great, it stayed cool in the house. The location is nice. The little store they have is nice, if you need a beer or eggs, it's great, the older lady staff was nice enough but the younger one was just rude. The laundry facility is awful, the dryers are falling apart and they don't have any air flow in the building, it was so hot. Overall our stay worked out great for 4 adults and 4 children. The house had 2 rooms, 1 with a king and 1 with a queen, 2 futon beds.

The property is in a beautiful green valley with cows grazing on the hills opposite. Incredibly quiet and peaceful. The lodge commicated often via text and had dinner and breakfast options for some of our stay.

Centrally located

The staff was great, property has amazing views and wildlife around to watch. It is centrally located between sturgis/ deadwood and Mount Rushmore. We stayed over a holiday weekend so I’m sure the price is elevated due to that. iI would not pay what I did again for the cabin. Bedrooms are extremely small, not much room for moving around in them. Great if you’re traveling with dogs.

We stayed in a cabin, and it was in great shape, and could sleep 8. It had a small room with a fridge and microwave. No bathroom. It was well air conditioned. The bathrooms were the only issue. It was a hot summer day and the bathrooms were over 90 degrees at 10 pm. In the morning, it cooled to about 80, maybe. It was too hot to take an effective shower at night. The extra sinks on the outside were not working or no outside light. It was miserable just trying to brush you teeth in the heat or darkness. The Petrified forest was interesting. The view and setting were great.
