The small guesthouse was great. It’s quiet, safe, and in a location close to the places we wanted to explore in Iceland. The best thing about this place is the host, he was very welcoming, friendly and serves an amazing breakfast to start off our day. Highly recommend this place! Thank you so much!

Property was beautiful and serene. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious assortment of meats, cheeses, bread with condiments. Coffee, tea and juice. Host was wonderful-kind and welcoming with a wealth of knowledge. The only thing, would maybe have a small kettle in the room fro tea in the evening.

Breakfast and staff was amazing. Properly is beautiful, clean and peaceful. Only negative is WiFi didn’t work in my downstairs bedroom and the room got pretty warm during the night. But would stay again if ever in the area. 😊👍

Owner August was great. The only problem we had is we never received an e-mail with check-in instructions and the reservation stated there wouldn't be anyone on site. Luckily there was someone there when we arrived.

We lived in one of host August's cottages. It was clean and very nice rural environment. August will prepare you very nice free breakfast well. You can ask him everything about Iceland. I highly recommend.

We booked the accomodation via expedia though it was closed and not prepared for guests when we arrived on site. The host was not on site but managed a friend to prepare everything for us and hand us over the key - so we had the entire appartment for our own and a very firendly and helpful neighbour. Great service!

One Night in the Country

Check in at Alfastein was stated as 6pm and that’s all the information we received initially. Luckily, we found Agust’s phone number and he helped us locate the key to let ourselves in. Soon after, Keli, the host came to welcome us and made sure we were settled. He made us feel very welcome, since we had to leave very early in the morning he fixed up the coffee for us and even offered a huge bag of bread to feed to the horses. This was such a memorable activity. We also got to see some Aurora although it was a bit cloudy. The whole house was very clean, full of interesting items, the beds were incredibly comfortable after a long day and we were warm all night. I wish we could’ve stayed here several more days. Thank you for your hospitality.

Das Frühstück war richtig super und reichhaltig. Agust steckt in das Guesthouse viel Herzblut rein. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt, er war ein sehr herzlicher Gastgeber und hat super Tipps für Island gegeben! Er hat uns kostenfrei auf ein besseres Zimmer gebucht- danke nochmals dafür! Wir würden sofort wieder kommen!

Our host was so interesting. There are so many cool things to look at in the house and everything is related to the travel or life of the host. He was very accommodating and we truly felt like welcome guests. The beds were comfortable and the house was warm. Breakfast was delicious.

Utsidan av huset såg ut som en mindre skrotgård och trädgården var dåligt skött och övervuxen och gav inget bra intryck vid ankomst. Parkeringsplatsen var lite kaosartad utan instruktioner var man kunde ställa bilen. Insidan av huset var bra, rena och fräscha rum. Frukosten var enkel men god och tillräcklig. Värden var trevlig och hjälpsam.

Tres Bon accueil par le propriétaire. Loger dans un chalet individual pour ma famille pendant les trois jours. Super practique pour nous d’être totalement indépendante et en privé. Top!
