Overall, this was a very nice hotel with a good location, and the breakfast was especially good. Our only confusion was about the water supply. At check-in, we were told that a pipe was broken and under repair, and a note in the room asked guests to “use water wisely.” However, we had running water throughout our stay. We understood that supplying water in such a remote location may be difficult, but clearer information would have been helpful.
Great location ... loved the helpfulness of the stuff ... but ... super weird set-up for the rooms since THERE ARE NO POWER OUTLETS in the rooms (just USB slots). This made a bit tricky to use my CPAP machine (which I need for sleeping). I contacted the staff about it, and they brought extension cord ... that I plugged in the outlet in the hall ... so that was helpful workaround (but felt weird to have this extension cord out in the hall in everyone's way)
Okay. Place was very clean, amenities were good to great, location is nice. But dear Lord the doors. All the room doors have door closers that are set to slam the living daylights out of the door in the last 6 inches of the swing, so when people enter or exit their rooms (which happens about 5 times a minute) there is the equivalent of a sonic boom that reverberates through the entire hostel. It actually got so bad it became comical. I don’t know if it’s an oversight or some form of passive aggression to ensure guests leave smartly, but in the context of a place where the chief activity is sleep, one wonders how this could have been overlooked.

Liked: Cleanliness
I've never stayed in hostels before but I really enjoyed our stay here.
The facilities were great, very nice kitchen area, nice shared bathroom and good room and bed. No complaints. We had supper watching the falls.
We booked a room mistakenly one day late than we needed. When I found it out one day before our check in time, we were not able to make the change because it passed the free cancellation deadline. So we booked another room. Upon our arrival, the staff found our situation and agreed to give full refund for the mistakenly booked room without our asking. He was super nice and helpful. The room and bathroom are very clean. We appreciated it truly.

Pros:
This hostel is clean. Towels were provided. The shower stalls are very private with no gaps in the doors. They provide a nice coffee machine in the kitchen. The location in between two beautiful waterfalls is very convenient. You can easily walk to both.
Cons:
One of the toilets had a broken flusher. You can make it work but it's a little tricky to figure out at first. That's a really basic repair that should be dealt with right away. You can hear a lot from the rooms beside you, if someone sneezes across the hall you hear it clearly. The two fridges get crowded because they are on the small side (bring your own napkins/paper towels). The parking lot had some refuse including a rusty nail which we nearly parked on top of, it could use maintenance.
Overall, this hostel was comfortable and conveniently located. However, the value does not match the price. As with everything in Iceland, it was expensive to stay here. The reason that matters in this case is that there were other places we stayed on our trip that were a similar. cost but had more privacy and amenities.
My friend and I chose this location because of how close it is to some waterfalls, but we never choose rooms without bathroom, it's inconvenient, but even it was very convenient for our route. No outlets in room though, which is completely annoying.
