This hotel caters to hotel and camping guests. We travelled by car with a small cooler of food. I found an empty refrigerator in the back/side entry to store my groceries overnight. Coffee, tea and an electric water kettle was in the room. The hotel lobby offers snacks and drinks for purchase with credit card 24/7. We did not have time for the extra-cost breakfast. We enjoyed petting the big furry white dog. Overall a great stay!

We received a message about how to check in without staff (especially if we were arriving later than 3). That made our schedule feel flexible. We were there during the midnight sun and their curtains gave us the sleep we needed unlike some other hotels we visited during our stay in Iceland. 10/10 would recommend for the quiet environment, great sleep, beautiful drive, and simple process of checking in and out.

Cosy and friendly hotel.

This is a friendly hotel, run by very nice people and is well located to visit the south coast of Iceland around Vik. Some of the decor is a little tired but the hotel has a homely 'old fashioned' feel to it, giving it a cosy atmosphere. Breakfast was very good. One comment I would make is that the mattresses on the beds need replacing, they were quite lumpy. If that could be done, then I'd definitely recommend a stay at the Fljotshlid

They were very kind and accommodating since I had messed up my booking for the hotel. I needed to stay there on July 6th, but didn’t actually book it until July 7th. When we got there I realized my error. I was so worried about having to find another hotel, but they found a room for me and my family and we made do. They directed us to a nice place to eat and it all worked out well. We thank them for their help. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities.

Old place that feels like you are dropped into a different era. Room was really hot. Kept the window open all night and it slightly cooled down. No fridge to use which I think they should have. But staff provided me ice which was nice of them. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was exceptional. There was an amazing variety, kept well stocked by a very pleasant, helpful and capable woman. All the staff were very welcoming and polite. The recommendation for a restaurant nearby the evening we arrived was superb. Best lamb we have ever had. The setting of the hotel was beautiful and peaceful. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay again some time.
