Really thrilled to end up spending 2 nights in Queen Victoria's room! Loved the pretty Regency balcony with superb views over the harbour. Lovely relaxed vibe to the whole place. Could not recommend highly enough.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay, the second time we've stayed there, and could not fault it in any way. From having our bags taken up to the room, which was lovely and clean with a very comfortable bed, the excellent service in the restaurant, to the fantastic staff members...we'll be back soon

Perfect stay! Would have loved to stay longer. Room 9 with sea view (got upgraded last min) what a blessing to wake up with sea view with a cup of tea! Bed super confortable (king size), bathroom with high standard and super clean. Breakfast fresh and simple card, i.e means fresh produce and it was. Super nice staff. If I can come back, I would!

Excellent location. We were fortunate that we were able to park opposite otherwise that would have been an issue feeding meters etc. Room was an average size with a lovely sea view. Bed was a king and very comfortable. Breakfast experience was disappointing. We were charged for literally everything separately. Teas and coffee, toast and jam (marmalade not available!) were all charged as extras. Also, a service charge was added on top of this. Having said that the breakfast room was a beautiful space and the young waitress was very lovely. We raised this complaint with Fi the receptionist and she took it very much on board and as a recompense waived a small drinks bill that was outstanding! I have to say that Fi was superb at her job. Very personable, helpful and enthusiastic in all her dealings with us. Would definitely stay again but next visit we will push the boat with a room that has a balcony!

The location is ideal for the seafront and restaurants. The bathroom was very spacious however the room itself was extremely tight. Unfortunately the service was so bad, I will not be returning. When checking in, we had to speak to 3 different members of staff before finding out which room we were in, and not one of those staff members even said hello or greeted us in any way. They ran past us trying not to acknowledge our present, We were just left standing there with absolutely no information given that it was not busy there was only 1 other guest sat at the bar, it was an unnecessary and a disgraceful performance.

Staff were great. Rooms are not very large and have limited hanging space. A blind on one of the balcony doors was broken and did not close. The bed was comfy. There was quite a bit of traffic noise as we were right over the road. Breakfast was awful, but dinner was lovely.

Had a warm welcome on arrival, room was lovely and clean. It was also not problem to store luggage after check-out, they even allowed a slightly later check-out to work around a morning tour I had planned. Would definitely stay here again!

We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire.
