This was an amazing stay, especially for my early morning flight. The hosts were respectful, informative me, and they made the place feel like home. They have a beautiful dining/common area. It's the perfect place to stay if your catching an early flight or coming in late afternoon or evening. Will book again, muchas gracias!

We were greeted with a warm welcome. Everything was done to make us feel at home. Shuttles to and from the airport were arranged and on our return trip a delicious dinner was served for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this place!

This is a cute property located behind a solid gate. There is a restaurant on site, and they will arrange transportation to the airport which was $9 one way for us. The rooms are clean although we couldn't open the window because it was missing the screen and we didn't want bugs in our room. It was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

One of the best

It is a family run business including taxi pick up and drop off at the airport which is very nice and comforting. As I entered the premises I was truly impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the establishment. My room was clean and comfortable as well. Very nice place to stay near the airport. If I travel through Quito again that is definitely my place to stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for clean, comfortable and inexpensive place while passing through Quito. Elizabeth is one amazing hostess. Thank you for pleasant stay.

What a gem

Absolutely wonderful property! I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. I booked very last minute and late at night and the owner had arranged for a taxi to pick me up from airport after midnight. I was the only one staying there which is a shame since this place is such a deal. Lovely 6 bedroom home, comfortable beds, brand new bathroom. Nice common area. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Water coffee and tea available. Loved the dogs and cats on the property and it was gated and secured. I wish I hadn’t booked at the Hilton already because I don’t understand how that place is charging $188 when this place was $50. I would stay here again and again. Plus I love supporting women businesses and locals.

Great Service. People was nice. Thank you. But the bathroom was smelly and the whole room was with this bathroom smell. The sliding shower door came out as soon as I started moving it to close it once I get in the bathroom. Other than that was a nice place.

The owner met us at the gate and was so hospitable. We were running late and hadn't eaten dinner, so within 15- minutes the owner ordered a great dinner for us. The place was very pretty, and the beds were comfortable. We were just there for the night because we were catching an early flight to the Galapagos. I would gladly stay there again!!

Close to the airport

I arrived at check-in time on a Sunday. I wanted lunch (almuerzo) at a nearby cafe. Unfortunately, there were none open. Settled for a bag of chips at a nearby tienda. I wanted dinner (Cena) and the hotel provided a home cooked traditional meal for a price. So only one choice. The hotel is clean, bed was comfortable and the staff aims to please. I will stay there again but a little more prepared in the future.

It is in a typical small Ecuadorian area. Might be a bit disconcerting if you are not used to Ecuador. It will be my go to place in the future and I recommend it. It has a security gate.

Las Hortencias was welcoming and comfortable. It was our first time in Ecuador knowing little spanish. Elizabeth and her family's generosity and kindness made our visit a positive one. After waiting for two hours to get through migrations at the airport and with no way of notifiying Elizabeth, the shuttle transportation was still waiting for us and welcoming. The place is clean and comfortable with a beautiful sunroom to eat breakfast in. They also have a friendly and happy dog!
