On the lower end of budget accommodation and very overpriced. The beds were clean - so ok for one night but the kitchen/bathroom lneexed complete replacement. Noisy main road out front. Same site as lakeside backpackers, lakefront motel and lakeside apartments. Close to the lake and town for shopping and restaurants.

Clean room,beautiful view lake Wakapitu at own balcony .Staff very helpful, stock up towels,tea,coffee daily.Shower has good pressure.Bed is comfy,got electric blanket keeping warm.Bus number 1 stop about 100m down can take you to airport.Location very easy to walk to Queenstown mall,restaurants at the Wharf or skyline gondolas. You should pack lightly because there is no lift then had to carry luggage 2 floors.It is for improvement if hotel can have toilet roll holder rather left toilet roll at window edge .I will happy to come back to hotel next trip

Keep your expectations realistic and you won’t be disappointed. It’s an older property and in a state of disrepair. It could definitely benefit from a major renovation. Kitchen is a bit primitive, bathroom ceiling could use some work. However, you can’t beat the location and the view. Comfortable bed and great staff. I’d stay here again despite the rustic qualities.

If it was real estate it would be called a fixer-upper. Built in the 60s and little done since. Mismatching garage sale furniture, unpredictable hot/cold shower, ancient kitchen, gardens and driveway a mess. Fixtures broken, areas unpainted. Very expensive for what it delivers which is zero luxury for the price. Only wins are the location is and the bed pretty comfy. Staff were fine
