Keep your expectations realistic and you won’t be disappointed. It’s an older property and in a state of disrepair. It could definitely benefit from a major renovation. Kitchen is a bit primitive, bathroom ceiling could use some work. However, you can’t beat the location and the view. Comfortable bed and great staff. I’d stay here again despite the rustic qualities.

Not worth your money. Staff lack communication skills - very poor english. Mould in bedroom, no hot water for our stay- went to/ contacted administration multiple times to address the hot water need in winter, to no avail.

An older hotel thats been updated right on the lake. Clean, fresh paint, fresh towels, great staff and all this for a fair price right on the lake with a view from every room. A exceptionalvalue.

This was a last minute booking and a room was ready. Great views, hot shower, the tv worked. I could walk everywhere, it has onsite parking. The stairs could really do with some maintenance or even replaced with something safer.

Quick stay in QT

just one night stay. location is great. right in front of the lake wakatipu in QT. A small kitchenette comes handy to cook or warm up food. Water pressure is good. We stayed on the ground floor, so the window in the bathroom is not suitable to be open as motel's workers walk pass through the hallway frequently. No privacy.

I would like to give a huge thanks to the team at this motel. This was a last minute booking, and when I arrived, they told me that they had tried to contact me to advise that they had no rooms. While waiting outside, in the cold, they came and found me to advise that they had a sister site down the road, that they would find a room for me. Turned out to be much bigger and right in the middle of town. Thank you to the team at Lakeside Motel and Lofts Apartments. You saved me.

Two power point sockets were loose and hanging - dangerous. Light bulb hanging out of socket. Toothbrush (not mine) left on floor under TV table. Windows covered in hand prints. Kitchen area smelt musty.

Won't Stay Here Again

Positives - good view of the lake and walking distance to town. Negatives - electric blankets didn’t work, room only had a oil column heater which was not adequate, kitchen was very old but everything did work, replacement towels/face cloth etc were just left inside the door not folded up nicely, I had an adjoining room and could clearly hear the people next door being intimate, loud enough that it woke me up. Worse part is the photos didn’t represent my room.
