Sikamifer Resort in Mauritius

Sikamifer Tourist Resort is a wonderful place to stay in Mauritius. Mr. Jean at the reception was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant staff were kind and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was enjoyable, and the resort is located in a convenient area. I highly recommend this resort.

Very friendly staff

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. There are barking dogs in the neighbourhood that might affect your night sleep. Room keys need to be left to the reception in the morning for the cleaners to use so it might be of inconvenience when you plan your day.

Experienced real Mauritian life.

The rooms are very very small with only a very small window, but it was clean, comfortable and had an aircon. Considering what I paid per night for Bed & Breakfast it was good value for money.

The main issue with this hotel is that the staff allowed other guests who were there in large groups to hang around outside their rooms on the balconies, playing music, talking, drinking, smoking, partying meaning that you had no privacy in your room and this went on until 11.00pm. The reception was closed at this time of night and I asked the night porter to quiet them down and he was reluctant. "They are here on holiday to have a good time, perhaps you should ask to move your room" was his response. The room walls are thin. You can here other guests talking and singing at unsocial hours. The hotel is also noisy in other ways, dogs barking woke me up most nights, the other nights the rain clattered onto the corrugated iron roof. The hot water takes a while to arrive, the internet is patchy, there were cockroaches that came out at night and there was black mold in the shower. It needs investment and new management.
