Stunning private beach Don't leave cash around, We left cash by the bedside table they came to turn the bed at night whilst we went for dinner and the cash was gone.

Stunning hotel, very reasonable price. We ended up opting for half board and this worked out well for us. There was always plenty of options on the buffet which were good, we did not find that the ala carte options were very tasty at all. The staff were all so kind and helpful. The private beach was lovely, though unfortunately you still get harassed by beach boys who are generally nice but annoying. The room was always clean, the staff smiling. The pool is beautiful and I love the extra inclusions as well as the little gifts! Godlisten and Rachel were especially wonderful. We would absolutely recommend.

Very stylishly designed hotel. Beautiful decor & tropical gardens leading to a picture perfect white sandy beach. Gorgeous large comfortable rooms. The perfect place to chill after our safari’s & stay in Stone Town. Thank you to the chef for fantastic food, especially the curries. All the staff were so lovely and the service was great. We also enjoyed the low tide sea safari with one of the staff. We highly recommend this as a beautiful chilled place to stay.

Fabulous service

Extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects! Grounds, rooms and public areas well decorated. Beach wonderful & not crowded. This is a boutique hotel of 85 rooms so staff gets to know the guests & their individual likes and needs.

It was one of the nicer resorts we have stayed in and must mention - Ally the Manager and Chef Dinesh , they were the best thing in the resort . Very helpful and accommodative. what a great place

Wonderful resort with personalized service, gorgeous pool and equally fantastic beach. Staff is pleasant and always willing to go the extra mile. Half board meant breakfast and dinner were included. Food was varied and good. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The workers there were well mannered and hardworking. I noticed that the first day I was there. They make sure your arrival is very welcoming and will go out of their way to make everything as comfortable for you. And of course the property there is beautiful. Everything is cut to perfection, cleaness, and beauty. I loved every minute I spent at Lux Marijani Hotel.

I celebrated my honeymoon on June 8th at Lux and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. In fact, I plan to return next year at the same time. I hope to see Grace, who works at the reception. She truly deserves to be a manager. Lux, I am coming back and would love to stay in the same room, number 65. Thank you for making my honeymoon a magical experience for my wife and me.

poor menù a la carte with too high prices and especially the cost of the wines for the quality they suggest. In two weeks no a single dish changed.Room service is too slow (one hour is the average waiting) and the food arrive completely cold, I tried this service twice. The housekeeper once opened the room door not knocking at 8.30 am and they knock the door at 9.30 pm to sanitize.

Amazing hotel and staff! My every need was met and there was always a staff member close by who was willing to help. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready, they took our bags from us and allowed us to get ready in the change rooms. We went to our excursion and came back to find our luggage in our rooms! They even offered late check out for us! Ahmed is the best bartender ever! Made the best drinks and always had a smile on his face! Too many amazing staff to call out. I will miss Lux Marijani and the memories I had made over that week! The only down side I would say is the location is a bit far from stone town and other excursions around Zanzibar. However, the remote location makes for relaxation, quiet and great beaches! Expect a minimum of 1.5 hours each way to commute into the city areas like Stone Town. Other than that, for what you get in quality and celebrity treatment, the distance is the minimum of your worries! The staff literally cater to your every need! One other story, I came back from an excursion and needed dental floss. A staff member was prepared to call a pharmacy to get someone to deliver it to my room. I declined because it wasn’t necessary but just goes to demonstrate how serious they take guest satisfaction! Loved this place and will miss it tremendously.

My husband and I didn’t spend a lot of time on the property as we got married on the beach at a nearby hotel….but they decorated the room and had flowers for us at reception when we returned from our wedding. The staff is super friendly, grounds are clean and customer service is great.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at LUX at the end of May — the place is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff made our experience truly special. A big shoutout to Kennedy at the front desk — his hospitality was out of this world! So pleasant and polite, he took the time to show us around and made us feel at home right away. Huge thanks to Abdul at the cashier desk for the amazing upgrade to the Executive Beach Front Room #9 — what a treat! And Ali at Café LUX, thank you for your help — such a well-mannered young man. We will definitely be coming back again!

4 day after Safari break

Hotel is nice. You do get hassled on the beach. The different food and drinks packages are confusing so do your maths on regular intake. Hotel is expensive but so are all hotels in Zanzibar.
