The property was very big and open.. it was nice and clean.. with few minor details of not having water for a full day.. also for the last 3 days the pool with the bar did not have high water level nor was the water filtering as it should have been.. if you want to eat at the Steak Restaurant u would need to make a reservation at 6pm on the dot as they will not take in walk in even though there are empty tables available.. I would suggest be there by 5:30pm as there will be a long line..

The check-in process is absolutely terrible. Took over an hour. The room was clean with the exception of the open bottles of water in the fridge. The air-conditioning worked well. The property could be cleaner, as there were not many staff walking around cleaning like at other rius we have stayed at in other countries. The food is just OK, there’s something for everyone. The bartenders seem to lack personality, and make you feel like more of an annoyance than anything. The drinks also seemed to vary inconsistency from Bar to bar. My biggest complaint, which is not the resort‘s fault, is the disrespect from the visitors. They disrespect the property, the employees, and other visitors.

Beautiful resort, fun activities, great staff. On our first day our room didn’t seem prepared for us, or maybe it was not used in a while. The room had a funky smell, but it was clean. We soon noticed the smell traveled through out the hotel, dining rooms and gift shop (was the worst). I chalked it up that the resort farts, terrible sewage system. It was hard to focus for the first two days. However, day two our room was cleaned and smelled better or maybe I just got used to the stinch. All of my new clothes I didn’t wear had to be washed went I got home because the scent was buried in my clothes. Apart from the resort farts, Riu Republica is a great spot for adult entertainment and fun.

I would not stay at this resort again. The room was very dirty, with stains on the bed sheets and an ant infestation. The food was disappointing overall and lacked quality. This resort seems geared toward college-aged guests who are looking to party nonstop. If you're not young and there to party, I would recommend staying somewhere else. Throughout my stay, it was common to see people intoxicated and even throwing up in the lobby. The RIU pool parties were extremely overcrowded. Getting a drink at the bar felt nearly impossible because of the long lines and the number of people packed into the area. Even the beach was disappointing, as the sand and surrounding areas did not appear clean. I will admit that the chicken curry served at the beach was excellent—that was probably the highlight of the trip. Overall, I would give this resort 1 out of 5 stars. You get what you pay for, and unfortunately this experience did not meet my expectations.

Overall, RIU Republica is more of a fun, party-style all-inclusive resort than a true luxury 5-star experience. If you’re going for vibes, pools, music, and social energy — it delivers. If you’re expecting luxury service and flawless rooms, it may fall short. The resort is huge, with multiple pools, nonstop entertainment, and a very lively atmosphere. There’s always something going on — parties, music, beach activities, and night shows — so it never feels boring. The beach is beautiful, wide, and perfect for long walks, and the ocean views are honestly stunning. Food is hit or miss. Some people enjoy the variety and themed restaurants, but others find the buffet repetitive or average. Drinks are decent for an all-inclusive, but not top-shelf quality. Rooms are comfortable enough, but not perfect — some guests mention maintenance issues or humidity depending on the building. Service can vary: some staff are amazing, others feel a bit inconsistent during busy times. The vibe is what really defines this place: young, social, loud, and party-focused. If you’re here with friends or want a high-energy trip, it’s a good time. If you want calm luxury, this probably isn’t the RIU for you.

Had mixed expectations because of some reviews but enjoyed the resort and would definitely go back. Party vibes for sure so don't expect quiet esepecially if you're in the rooms closest to the beach. But there were quieter areas of the resort. Pros: 1. Great view from balcony of ocean view rooms. Beds were comfortable and room was cleaned everday to my satisfaction. 2. Plenty of space in the pool, swim up bars were convenient, and beach was beautiful. 3. Staff was nice and worked hard to accommodate us. We only went to the buffet and the selection was good. The local dishes were best. 4. Lots of guests having fun at all times of day. PACHA club and beach party on Sunday were fun. 5. Resort grounds were well maintained. Cons: 1. Room's sink pipes leaked on the bathroom floor but maintenance was quick to respond. A/C temp was not controllable and could have been slightly cooler during the day. 2. Sports bar's TVs are too small. 3. After dinner food options are limited. 4. Swim up bars close at 6. Expected at least one to stay open late. 5. Gym was way too hot. No fan and couldn't feel any A/C.

So first things first, my original room was not ideal. There was mold by the air vents, AC doesn't work too well and the walls, bedsheets and smell of the room wasn't what I hoped for. Luckily I was able to change my room to a far better one with great views. The staff was really accommodating with that. Now, Riu Republica is in fact a party resort, there is a lot to do, to keep you active. Plenty of drinks to go around and trust me, those drinks will creep on you before you know it. The staff were okay, but some of them looked really annoyed if you ask them for something. The restaurants were pretty bland, but I found Kulinarium to be one of the better ones. Their breakfast and the jerk chicken spot were also top teir in terms of quick free food. We also had a night where there was no water for a couple of hours and everyone had to use bottled water to shower, flush toilets and whatnot. Overall, despite their flaws, It is still a fun resort to be at. Just know that you sort of get what you paid for since it is a cheaper option.

The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful. Palm trees and sculpted grass. Unfortunately there was some things that made me give this rating. Washcloths were not delivered until the second day of my stay. I don’t expect good food at any Riu but I can normally eat enough to survive. The food was below average. Uncooked rice, who can’t cook rice! No brand name rum or vodka ( no Bacardi, Tito’s, absolute). Wasted drinking for me. Couldn’t even get a buzz. The icing on the cake was 8 hours without water!!!! While this could have happened anywhere, the previously stated issues made it feel like the last straw. Management did not communicate about the water situation and I almost got trampled on trying to get the water that they were giving out. I would return for a complimentary trip. I certainly wouldn’t pay again. The pools were amazing.

The hotel was clean and well-kept overall, with a friendly and helpful staff. I felt incredibly safe thanks to visible security throughout the resort. I loved that the property offered different atmospheres—there was an energetic pool area with great music for celebrating, and a quieter pool area for a relaxing, calm escape. My favorite meals were at the Italian restaurant and the steak house. I would recommend this resort because the beach is absolutely beautiful and it’s affordable for someone on a budget like myself.
