We had a great stay at Ocean El Faro! A big shout out to our butler Franklin he was always checking in, happy to help and made sure everything was easy for us. Overall, the resort was beautiful, food was really good and everyone was friendly.

This property was very clean, the rooms were cleaned daily by the staff, but several times we had to ask for wash clothes and our last night , we ran out of toilet tissue and had to find someone in the area to get additional. The staff was awesome, very nice, polite and helpful. Overall, the stay was great with plenty to eat and entertainment. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was pretty clean and the property was well-maintained. The staff was helpful and friendly, we really got to know some of them! The bars were great and the drinks were good. Although, the food was subpar. The best restaurant was Sakura and the rest were not good. The buffet was also not good.

The rooms were clean, and we came to celebrate a birthday, we had an absolute blast! The pools were amazing, and the swim-up bar was definitely one of our favorite spots. The staff was incredible, so friendly and fun, and they really made the experience even better. The only thing I’d recommend is making your restaurant reservations as early as possible, since they can fill up quickly. Overall, the resort had great vibes, and we had an amazing time. We’d definitely come back!!!

Gorgeous property and mostly wonderful staff. Personal concierge was extremely helpful and planned many birthday surprises for our trip. Unexpected and very disappointing downfall was that the beach is not useful. Full of seaweed. Balcony suite was HUGE and very well unkept. Cool air and beautiful accents took the spacious room over the top. Amazing view of the pool for our room as well!! Far from airport, but arranging transportation before hand - through trip advisor made to and from the airport a breeze!

I liked that they have enough amenities for the kids and the entire family. I particularly loved the very relaxing vibes of the entire place and the hammocks everywhere. My most favorite attraction though was the tree swing by the beach and the lazy river was a big hit with my kids. Another big hit with the kids was the Jelly playhouse. They offered a lot of activities and kept the kids entertained and safe while mommy and daddy enjoyed a dip in the pool or a romantic lunch. We’ll definitely go back again! Hector Matos was our guide during our stay and he was very gentle and kind. He took the time to answer all of our questions through texts and helped us make reservations to restaurants and other places/activities when needed.

Punta Cana is my new favorite vacation location! That being said this was my first time at this location in DR! The facilities were pretty but there were pros and cons to the stay Pros: -Great pool selection -Buffett was consistent on any day as far as food taste -Staff was kind and super helpful -Tram service is an awesome amenity to take you from the front to the ocean! Cons: -The resturants were super inconsistent! Almost everyone one I ate at something was either not good or the food came out cold -The staff was spread thin so alot of days the swim bars were packed and only had one bartender or the Buffett was packed and they would run out of plates OFTEN -The room had a mildew scent from time to time (humidity not friendly to the rooms) -the shower was consistently not hot at night I would go back for the staff and the amenities but hoping there is more consistency next time! Ps Tepenyaki Restaurant is AHMAZINGG!! Go as often as you can!

When we arrived, our rooms weren't ready to be given. They told us to hurry to lunch since it closed 30 minutes. The buffet staff had put almost everything away that was hot and were upset that a large amount if guests were being sent there to stall for time. We waited 2 hours past check in to get a room. Getting a reservation for a restaurant is nearly impossible. All the rooms smell of mildew. I was approached multiple times daily by very aggressive sales people selling time shares, jewelry, and paintings. Trying to get bottled water to the room for drinking was incredibly difficult. We are a family of 3 and asked for 2 bottles daily for drinking. The pools were very nice and The beds were very comfortable. The staff seemed angry with everyone and everything. We will not be returning.

We just came back from the resort and the only complaint I have is that I had to leave. From day 1, the staff has been extremely helpful and our concierge Miguel Carrido was amazing. He would start the day by letting us know the daily activities and made all of our reservations for the restaurants. The steakhouse is amazing! The morning buffet was well stocked and diverse. My kids LOVED the huge Nutella bottle and were sad that we couldn’t get one for home. My youngest is extremely picky and he was able to find something to eat at every meal and actually enjoyed his food. For children, the place offers tons of daily activities and had a center and a pool just for the children with slides. They have a movie theater showing movie and tons of indoor activities when you need them. For adults, the pools offer a swim-up bar and tons of activities around it. They have a sport bar—which we made used for it to watch the World Cup finals. It was amazing seeing and meeting people from all over the world cheering for their team. The kids loved the lazy river. They have a scuba try out center in the main pool. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The only place we didn’t swim in was the ocean because of the seaweeds but the hotel maintained it really well. Walking on the beach was beautiful and again, well maintained. Our room was extremely well cared for. Housekeeping was extremely helpful and kept our room looking new. We will be coming back soon!

Ive been hesitating to write this review bc im not sure how to fit all I have to say.. I’ll start with saying something i never thought would happen, my husband and I have visited the DR a few times and we always come back bc we LOVE it… Unfortunately this time around we cant say the same. Biggest thing that happened was $200 disappearing from our room… My daughter almost drowned in the pool bc of all the tiles coming off and her necklace got stuck. Staff did not want to be there, RUDE! Specially ice cream lady at night. Shower floors were filthy. There was never enough plates or cups at the buffet. We left EXTREMELY disappointed and don’t plan to ever come back to this hotel. Hope whoever took our money finds good use to it. There was a handful of nice people at this place. So if you want to get your money’s worth, do not waste it here.

Best part of the trip was our Butler named Franklin. He made everything run smoothly. Also Carlos at the pool was great and energetic. Very kind and talked with our kids about baseball. Food was good for an all inclusive and several options to choose from. We did have an issue with the first room and Franklin moved us to a much nicer room quickly. The beach was nice but seaweed was horrible so we chose to spend most of the trip at the pools. The lazy river was great but there were never enough floats. The bars did not have any bananas so they could not make the drinks that our kids enjoy. The bowling alley and shows were great. The worst part of the entire week was a guy named Sandy. He about ruined the trip for us. He works for the resort but apparently he claims he only gets paid if you go listen to a spill about buying premium status for the Ocean resorts. We told him we were not interested 5 times. He literally stalked us around the resort. Called our room, waited on us outside the rooms, waited outside breakfast. He would not leave us alone. After paying the amount of money we paid for the trip I should not be harassed by employees.

Beautiful grounds and great staff, but held back by poor food and room issues Rating: 3/5 (Average) The Good: First off, the resort and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the beach is fantastic. The staff also deserves a huge shout-out—everyone we came into contact with was top-notch, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The Rooms & Maintenance: While the rooms themselves were very nice, we ran into some frustrating technical issues. The power kept going out, and the AC just wouldn’t get cold. We were eventually moved to a second room, but unfortunately, it had the exact same problems. Looking closely around the property, you can also see some maintenance detailing starting to fail—things like missing tiles in the pool, unfinished or unrepaired concrete work, and a general need for better sweeping around the grounds. The Food (The Main Issue): The biggest disappointment of our stay was definitely the food. It was mediocre at best. When the majority of a large family group can’t find things they want to eat, that says a lot. The resort really needs to hire a chef who can bring some actual flavor to the menus. Overall Thoughts: I really want to give this resort a higher review because it has so much potential, but management needs to do better. Since returning, I’ve had many family and friends

The person who was appointed for our daily eating at the restaurants . Hector thank you so much for making our reservations. Guy who was at the pool side( helping giving the towels) thank you so much for being really kind. He is studying English and I wish him all the very best. Please make sure to clean the pool water they were really dirty and my son got hurt in one of the pool while playing badly.

To begin with the room was clean yes however the room felt outdated and the doors to the shower did not close properly as well for the toilet did bot remain closed either. The sliding door to the balcony felt very heavy to open it definitely required lot of strength. Moving onto the staff, there were several employees whom deserved our gratitude on how they assisted us one being Hector Matos. I would definitely recommend him a 5 star for the level of service and professionalism he provided to my family and I as well several servers in the buffet area who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Pool area felt dangerous because during my stay several guest had injuries due to the condition of the pool as it was missing tiles on the floor which led to guests cutting themselves. Several areas of the pool looked like they needed maintenance including the swim-up bar as an example i happened to grab the counter and the wooden board almost fell on me and another guest. The restaurants food was not great besides the buffet and the Sakura restaurant their food was good. The entertainment was good as I even participated in a pool event. Overall the staff was the only good thing i can recommend and for that thank you Hector Matos.

We really enjoyed our family stay at Ocean el Faro, two adults and two kids 11 and 15. Pools were beautiful, food offered something for everyone - we enjoyed the italian and steak restaurants a lot - GREAT value and lovely experience. The only downside was the sargazo season at the beach that really made the beach not enjoyable for the time we were there. Apart from that everything was perfect. Since we could not enjoy the hotel beach we did go on a couple of excursions which were a nice change of pace and reasonably priced for the value. Hotel reception staff was actually very fair and helpful for recommending. Facilities are very well maintained, loved the lazy river, gym, and sports bar.

I love the restaurants and the walkway was shaded from the sun so it was bearable in a 90 degree weather. The room was cleaned every day although they ran out of tissue for our room. I also loved hanging out at Mike’s coffee while waiting for the restaurants to open. The gym was bigger than the other resorts we’ve been to and it’s open 24 hours . Our overall experience was great! It truly deserved a five star rating!

The room was clean, but it was just dusty and also they need to invest more money in time on the property. They need to do an upgrade. on the property, but other than that, everything was great. The food was amazing. The staff was amazing. Everyone was polite and nice and take it for me. Everyone was definitely polite and nice.
