We were satisfied with the apartment. It has two bedrooms, each with air conditioning, and two bathrooms—having a private bathroom was a big plus. The kitchen was small but functional, and the living room was comfortable and clean. The apartment looks new, and the host was very responsive and helpful with any questions.
The apartment does not have a balcony, and the shared pool is smaller and not very clean, though that’s building maintenance.
We were lucky that the apartment included direct beach access and free parking, as public access is limited and often expensive ($25/day for parking or beach chairs). Driving in the Dominican Republic was stressful and aggressive, so next time we’d likely use Uber. Customer service in stores and some restaurants was poor.
Overall, we truly enjoyed the apartment, host, beaches, and weather, but the country itself felt overly commercialized and difficult to navigate. We would recommend the apartment for its comfort and convenience, but not necessarily the area as a whole.
