Keep searching!!!!

On my return from Bora Bora I spent one night at this hotel. Major mistake our first room had no a.c. and we were forced to change rooms during the night. The second room was a little cooler not cold by anyone's standards. The tile in the shower was molded and was very dated. On a positive note it was only a 1500 pf taxi ride from the airport.

OK for nightstop

We didn't get to see much of Papeete as we missed our original connection and so arrived 3.5 hours later, at about 11.15 pm; however the hotel was good for an overnight stop and conveniently close to the airport. I don't usually need bell boy assistance but this time we could have used it and there wasn't a bell boy on duty at the time we arrived. One very annoying thing.........there was no clock in the room, and my Blackberry died earlier in the day so without a clock or an alarm I was worried about oversleeping and missing our flight to Bora Bora the next day. However, the hotel wake up call came through as booked.

Close to airport

The only good thing was the proximity to the airport for a 1 night stay. The room was old, carpet stained, it smelled and there was mold in the shower. The towels and washcloths were old, faded and frayed. Our cab driver said that he had heard that the hotel was going bankrupt and trying to sell. Therefore, no money is going into upkeep.

Hotellet lukker permanent ved udgangen af november 2012 og standarden over hele linjen, værelsesstandard, restaurant og helt afgjort personalets motivation er bestemt for nedadgående. Det er måske forståeligt nok?

Final Night in Tahiti

After visiting several islands, I returned to Tahiti before flying home, so I only stayed one night. I had a midnight flight and I had to pay for the late checkout. I wish it was free, but it was better then staying in a transient room. This hotel was closer to the airport than my previous hotel and still a cab/bus ride to Papeete. What was nice was that the grocery store was right across the street. I didn't get a chance to go in the ocean there, but I did go in the pool and hang out in the pool area. Being a 5 star hotel, of course the room was really nice and comfortable. If you're looking for a nice hotel, I do recommend this one

Nice Hotel - boring location

Very nice hotel. Nice restaurants. Friendly staff. Wonderful place to go scuba diving - many sharks. Cons: Very uninteresting neighbourhood. The city of Papeete is slightly to far away for walking. Without a car you a bit trapped.

Okay for what it is.

A faded resort that has become an airport transfer hotel for the essentially required overnight between late night arrival at PPT and the onward flight to outer islands in the morning. I think most travelers would be very disappointed if they came to Tahiti and planned to stay here for the full extent of their stay. Grounds are limited. Rooms are a bit dowdy and not particularly well maintained (mildew in the shower, lime caked shower head, etc.) Reception is understaffed for what must be a nightly occurrence of lined up fatigued travelers waiting for the opportunity to check in after treating themselves to the self-serve(!) cool towel and refreshing arrival drinks. Somebody should just build a real transfer hotel at the terminal and be done with it.

Fine if you're passing through...

The hotel staff was the best part of our one night stay as they provided really good service and pointed us to some great eateries and talked to our taxi driver to allay our "how much?" concerns. We only stayed one night as we were in transit to Bora Bora. The bed (too firm) and the pillows (too thick) were so uncomfortable for us that we slept very poorly. Additionally, the room was quite small (we booked a king mountain view room) and somewhat shabbily appointed (worn, faded carpets). We'd only suggest this hotel if you're passing through - it's fine for a layover, though.

Bad customer service

Hotel was ok but customer service was very average. They greeted us nicely at the door but when we ordered a wake up call and a taxi to the airport We didn't get either.

Good overnight

Good place for an overnight. We were out early in the morning after coming in from Bora Bora. Staff was friendly and helpful food by the pool was good, buffet looked extensive but was a bit high. We didnt require much. Probably wouldnt spend a week there but great for an overnight

Stopover-Hotel in Flughafennähe, sehr schöne Lage

Schöne Hotelanlage in ruhiger Lage mit gepflegten Außenanlagen, nettem Strand und reizvoller Aussicht auf das Meer und Moorea. Zimmer allerdings für unsere Ansprüche sehr klein bis winzig, auch das Bad mit intregierter Toilette, ebenso klein der Balkon. Leider noch Haare von den Vorbenutzern in der Dusche. Zum einmaligen Übernachten okay, einen längeren Aufenthalt würden wir dort nicht verbringen wollen.

Greit og behagelig opphold. Rent rom. Bra med svømmebasseng og veldig veldig deilig med privat sand strand i Papeete. Hotellet tilbyr også mange aktiviteter blant annet Jetski. Hotellet har også kort avstand til sentrum av Papeete for shopping og middag. Vi brukte lokal buss som funket utmerket frem og tilbake.

Front Desk staff excellent, attentive and courteous. All Tahitian staff generous with their Polynesian hospitality and kindness. Hotel well managed. Polynesian food at pool bar very good.

Enjoyable stay on the way home.

Stayed 2 nights on way home from Bora Bora. Had no complaints about the hotel and would stay there again. For us as a couple there was too many kids splashing about in the pool so the enjoyment of that aspect was reduced but kids are there to have fun so can't blame them for their exuberance. Loved happy hour with half price cocktails. Food was expensive as everything is in Tahiti. Room was clean and comfortable. Beach was nothing special but we enjoyed just lying out relaxing in the sun. All in all a good stay.

Sofitel- great overnight stay in PPT

I have stayed here several times before flying out to another island in the morning most recently in July 2012. Sofitel is clean, staff very friendly. They have a great breakfast. The pool/beach area is beautiful. I saw they have and excercise class in the water- will have to try it next time. The hotel is a short taxi from the airport and with the trip for the extra amenities and elevator (as compared to the hotel at the airport). Recommended!
