Love this place

Definitely one of the best locations to stay in the area of Puerto Viejo...I love the gardens and the breakfast that is brought to your room and how close it is to the beach.

Every year, we make it a point to visit Puerto Viejo at least once, and every time we do, we stay at Villas del Caribe. The location is unbeatable, and the nature within the property is truly special — sloths, toucans, monkeys, guatusas... it's just perfect.

Love this place

We have stayed here in the past and have returned for a part of a 3 week adventure in Costa Rica. We have seen more wildlife on this and surrounding property than we have on guided tours.

Beach front. This hotel is a paradise! Rooms Kitchen and living room. Staff was súper nice! They have 2 stations with cold filtered water. You can walk 8Km through the beach to the right and 3km to the left. 2 restaurants in the complex.

Super helpful staff. We were glad to have the use of the beach towels and be able to rent snorkels. The water is visible from the Villas and there are rocky pools that were good for snorkeling. The sandy beaches are walkable.

We really enjoyed our balcony and the awesome views of the ocean. We were greeted by a family of monkeys on most mornings. The daily breakfast was good and the staff was really responsive.

The grounds were beautiful. Can see ocean from room. It’s an older property but well kept. The staff were amazing. Naomi was always accommodating, went out of her way to call on excursions, check on restaurants, filling cooler with ice and always with a smile. She made are stay there even more amazing. Jenifer also was always willing to accommodate. The breakfast delivered to room each morning was fabulous. We definitely will be back again.

The staff is welcoming and helpful. Management was accommodating in exchanging room due to road noise. Objectively I cannot see how this property is rated 5 stars. 2/3 due to age of the facility. Example the Wood beams “rained” moth eggs on the bed.

Very comfortable and well kept. Great dining, pool Jacuzzi and the beach is so close. I felt safe and a lot within 20 walk. The staff were great. Plan tours early. Horseback riding on the beach is recommended

Beautiful tropical hotel. Large room, kitchen, big covered patio with table and lounge chairs. Ocean front. Secured parking, I would recommend and I would return here.

This is an older resort hotel that has been very well maintained, surrounded by mature gardens that provide ample space for wildlife, shade and relaxation. There is a pool with a waterfall, a shaded bubble pool and tot area. One excellent restaurant on site and another right next door. The beach out front is coral tide pools that you can sit in, a short walk to the right brings you to a sandy beach with snorkelling and a little further to a beautiful curve for playing in the waves, all with very few people. Service in the hotel was excellent. Breakfast is delivered to your room at your preferred time and all of the staff were helpful and friendly. Simply delightful.

Beautiful property with the ocean just a few yards away. The grounds were filled with amazing plants and animals--howler monkeys, tucans, dart frogs, agouties--and while the ocean could be a bit rough, the tide pools were sandy bottomed and deep enough to swim in without being hit by waves. Fabulous all around!

the spicy coconut restaurant on site and the other adjacent restaurant offer excellent food. Staff at the Spicy coconut were great. Pool was clean and nice. Lots of wildlife on site. We had Sloths climbing around the spicy cocunut restaurant while we ate. huge iguanas in the trees around the pool. agoutis walking around the grounds in the day. Rooms are clean and basic. Beds are IMO too hard and uncomfortable, but that is personal preference. Price on expedia was reasonable. Located right across from the animal rescue farm.
