Beautiful location on the beach and golf course. Rooms are old and vastly different from new condos there. But it's still a good hotel for the price. The restaurant and all staff are excellent, great food and service. Benny at the bar is exceptional!

The staff are very friendly and helpful! This hotel is older so one should expect to find an older pool, older sliding doors and bath tubs etc. I was not planning to need to spend the night in Puerto Plata but I am definitely thinking about planning a trip back to stay here again!

I always go back to Blue Jack Tar for its beautiful beach, quiet rooms, delicious food and friendly staff. The rooms are kept clean with plenty of hot water. It’s my home away from home.

The facilities (room) was dated, but mostly worked fine. The restaurant was good/friendly/clean. The beach-side restaurant was under construction (being renovated).

Great location and chill hotel

Great location and chill hotel. Breakfast is included and is good. There were few people staying here, which meant we got the pool practically to ourselves and the beach cabanas and chairs were great too. The restaurant is ideal for dinner and there are other options up and down the beach as well. I would definitely stay here again. Golfers would especially like this place because it is right along the green around hiles 7 and 8, I believe.

The location is great. I loved that it wasn’t an all-inclusive because I didn’t feel obligated to eat on-site, however, we had dinner on site every night and the food and service was excellent.

Older resort but it was nice. Great air conditioning in the rooms. On this island that’s not always the case. Beach was nice. Had the pool all to ourselves. Good breakfast a la carte. Thumbs up.
