Great location and a traditional hotel

Fantastic and convenient location. Gorgeous internal atrium. Unfortunately my room did not open onto the atrium but was in a more modern section of the hotel but it was a very large room with a balcony overlooking a square and the sea walls. It was old fashioned but I was very happy with it. Good selection for breakfast.

A bit worn but comfortable

It's an old building and a rolling upgrade is being slowly rolled out. Overall, it's a bit worn but comfortable. Quite a decent breakfast is included. Photo is taken from Room 115

Monopol has a stunning interior. The staff are excellent and the breakfast spread should satisfy anyone. Then again, I'd already anticipated this before I booked. Disappointed that the Alhambra bar was closed. It looked quite stunning. Also disappointed that the Ocean bar was also closed. Loved the area but not so much the old busker outside. To be fair, we visited off-season. Had the facilities been open then I wouldn't hesitate to give it max stars. Parking at the espanlade was not a problem (although it does get pretty full during core day hours). Given its location, it is probably one of the best places in Puerto de la Cruz.

Een historisch hotel op een perfecte locatie. Dicht bij de zee, de boulevard, winkeltjes etc. Je stapt zo uit het hotel een gezellig pleintje op. Het hotel is wel echt oud en dat zie je aan de staat van de kamers en de badkamer. De binnentuin is echter prachtig en vanaf het (zoutwater)zwembad heb je prachtig uitzicht op zee. Er is zelfs een jacuzzi waar je de hele dag gewoon in kunt. Het ontbijt is ook prima en het personeel vriendelijk.

Charming hotel with everything a traveller could want. The hotel itself is beautiful and ideally located. The breakfast is good; there's a warm swimming pool with nice sauna and jacuzzi. The staff are friendly and helpful. We can't imagine staying anywhere else -- highly recommend!
