First time in Galapagos and the staff and management at the Indigo made it the most amazing trip. They were very helpful in booking different activities and restaurants. The staff also made great drinks and food was excellent at the hotel. It is by far the most luxurious option in Galapagos. While some write about it being a higher price point, it is fully worth it for the level of service, cleanness of rooms, quality of food and hotel. Unfortunately this was the worst hotel we experienced during a 2.5 week honeymoon in Ecuador and the Galapagos. A huge surprise to us as Indigo marketed itself as five star and we made a note that it was our honeymoon and really did expect five star service or at least four. In addition this was by far the most expensive hotel with one of the nights totally 520 and the other averaging 450. I’m writing a full review in order to help other travellers but also in the hope that IHG get in touch. It was a real shock. The pros: on arrival we were greeted by the lovely Emily who was sweet and welcoming. The lady who helped us on exit was also very lovely and the waiters in the main restaurant were charming. It’s also a great location and the bed and pillows were very good. We almost had the best night sleep of the trip… The cons: the hotel mentioned it was soundproof. Not the case. While the noise of the sea lions didn’t bother us (you can’t control nature, nor should you try!!) what did bother us every morning before 6am was the other hotel guests. we could hear them open their safe, use the loo, talk to one another. We were also positioned right next to the cleaning room (a shame… we thought as honeymooners we might get a nicer room) so we were woken by that throughout the night/early hours of the morning. The breakfast was lacking for a five star (the egg chef was lovely and the eggs were nice) but everything else was limited and the coffee was truly awful. Finally, on our f
