We stayed in Puerto Ayora for Two nights and that was sufficient to see everything. We also had a layover for a few hours between ferries when we headed back from Isabela Island and going to San Cristobal, and we didn’t have much to do that was new.

Puerto Ayora is really a base to get on tours (and there’s tons of those on offer) but we really liked the variety and range of dining from los kiosk is to Almar, and shops, and met some very friendly locals too who made the trip a lot more special

It’s a small island town. You can walk from one far end of town to the other in a maximum of 30 minutes. People are friendly and warm.

Puerto Ayora is a great place to visit. We enjoyed seeing the giant tortoises, iguanas, sea lions, and varios birds. The people are very friendly and we felt safe as we traveled throughout the island.

Town that has everything you’d want from civilization in the Galapagos. They use US dollars here but no credit cards so make sure to carry cash with you. Prices are the same as the US so expect to spend $$$.

Puerto Ayora is the hub for all your Galapagos tours. By going to the islands and booking your trips there, you are ensuring that the money stays in the island for the local economy. :) be a mindful traveler!
