“We stayed here two years previous. The location of the property and the hotel itself are excellent. We also found the food excellent (better than last time). However, the service was poor - they felt understaffed and even non busy mealtimes seemed a strain on resources. Not very efficient… The hotel could be excellent, but just felt lacking on this occasion.”

Not ideal for people with limited mobility, but we enjoyed ducking under low lintels and walking over uneven floors, some of which have been around for several centuries. “Room was tidy and clean with a fancy towel display on the bed, (nice touch for the wife). The staff was friendly and polite and made conversation with you, the bar staff was just the same, even the manager made polite conversation about the history of the pub. The bar food l👀k’d amazing. Breakfast, there was plenty to choose from, plus, what I call a good builders breakfast. When we are in the neighbourhood we would stay there again. Thanks to everyone”
