We chose Residence Jecna for its location and we are glad we did. It is roughly a half-mile walk from Prague Central Station where we arrived by train, a one mile walk to the Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge, and just a couple of blocks from the Tram 22 Stepanska stop which runs to Mala Strana (Lesser Town) and Prague Castle. The hotel has no front desk but thankfully the check-in process (obtaining a code to enter the front door, check-in at the kiosk in the lobby and producing a room key) went very smoothly. The room was clean and had a large bathroom. The shower produced good water pressure and water temperature was also good. Someone cleaned our room every day and resupplied toiletries as needed, although we never saw them. Be prepared to leave Euros in cash before checking out to pay the city tax - 1 euro per person per day.

A Very Nice Place to Stay

In general, we were very pleased with our accommodations and overall experience. The place was generally clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. I would recommend staying here to others. A few small things that we didn't love - the windows are powered and supposed to open and close with a button on the wall. All but 2 windows were broken and would not open. Also, the shower had some black stuff around the bottom edges. Not sure if it was mold or not, but needs to be cleaned/repaired either way. A couple things to be aware of - this location is right off a busy street that creates quite a bit of noise. Overall, this didn't bother us much, but something to be aware of. Also, the elevator for the building is very small. I think people with a lot of large luggage, or a wheelchair, or anything bulky might have problems with this. It will likely take you several trips in the elevator, or you will need to use the stairs. In general, we were happy with our stay.

I booked this property specifically because it was advertised as pet-friendly, but my experience was frustrating from start to finish. Upon arrival, the door code I was provided did not work, leaving me unable to access the building. I was only able to enter because another guest checking in let me follow them inside. The registration information I received was also incorrect, making it extremely difficult to access my reservation details. There was no staff available on-site to assist. After multiple phone calls, I was eventually connected with someone who would only communicate via SMS. Throughout my three-week stay, the building access code was changed multiple times without any notice, repeatedly leaving me locked out and forcing me to contact management by text just to gain entry. Although the property was listed as pet-friendly, the process for pet fees and deposits was highly unprofessional. I was instructed to pay the pet fee and pet deposit in cash directly to the maid the following day, which I did. My dog caused no issues. There was no noise, no damage, and no complaints. Despite this, management has refused to return my deposit. They initially responded to my messages but eventually stopped communicating altogether. Reliable communication, secure access, and transparent policies are basic expectations for any accommodation. Unfortunately, this property failed in all three areas. I would not recommend it.

Great room, but extra city tax

Hotel charged an extra city tax of 4 euros/night in cash to be left on nightstand at departure. I thought hotels.com rates covered all hotel fees and taxes. Otherwise, the room was great and proximity ideal to reach New and Old Town areas by foot.

Very lovely hotel and the staff is nice too. I forgot to have cash on me for the per person hotel tax and they covered it for me, but I feel terrible about it. The rooms are nice with very modern bathrooms. Lots of Chinese propaganda channels on the TV service though!

Wish they had a front counter with a human behind it so I could have maybe checked in early or left my bag here early. Just the machine that prints your card and tells you nothing about where your room actually is. Location is perfect, walking distance to old town or Vinohrady without being crushed by tourists. Shower had nice pressure but took about 15 minutes to drain, so you spend any shower standing in an inch of water.

Lovely, spacious room. Very comfortable bed and appreciated the extra duvet for colder nights. Decaf options and some milk cartons would have been good for the room. Shower head was fixed at the wall and unable to rotate up or down so had to use it off the wall. Loads of storage space and flexible heating/cooling options. Construction work on the building next door meant early morning noise that woke me up. Not the fault of the hotel but not ideal for a holiday break.

When you arrive at the location, you need a text message from them giving you a code to enter. ( 2 letters and numbers usually ) but expedia does not send the code and the hotel does not check if you have a reservation from expedia. So, we did not have a code to enter and where lucky enough to have someone who works there arrive. So, you need a code to enter the building and a special code to get your key and go in which is sent by text messages.

A localização é boa, perto do metro e do ponto de bonde/ônibus. Não há funcionários pra ajudar presencialmente. O local para banho é muito pequeno e a ducha do chuveiro estava danificada (não se fixa), prejudicando o banho. O minibar não estava funcionando e tentaram me enganar dizendo que ele funcionaria se eu deixasse a porta do closet aberta (?!?). Quando retornei dizendo que ele continuava não funcionando nada foi feito (eu havia comprado alimentos perecíveis, que estragaram).
