Daytime desk clerk on 5/21 was extremely pleasant and helpful. We needed some seafood to remain frozen overnight, and she and Chris made that happen. Then she brought some ice to our room for our drinks. The attached restaurant felt historic (as it certainly is); the food was great; and the service/hospitality warm.

We enjoyed our overnight at Lamie's. We stayed in the older section and the brick wall and 4 poster beds added a homey, authentic feel to the vibe of the Old Salt Tavern next door. Beds comfortable, room clean. The rooms & bathroom are a little small but perfect if your plan doesn;t include spending lots of time in your room. We came to visit friends in the area and had lunch and dinner at the Old Salt which was really convenient to just come downstairs rather than having to drive somewhere else for meals, especially during a hot, sunny weekend. Very good food, friendly, helpful staff throughout the inn and restaurant. Free continental breakfast is an excellent value with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, instant oatmeal, cold cereal, pastries, muffins, toast and juice & coffee (regular & decaf).

Having a restaurant, as well as a small lounge, onsite was a big plus. Very convenient location on the edge of town, close to a main route to Mass and Maine along with interior NH. The only thing that I would consider a negative comes with a caveat. The older gentleman that checked me in was very amiable and welcoming, but it took me almost 35 minutes to check-in. I was in a hurry to attend to plans I made, so the lengthy conversation was a roadblock that I had to navigate. It’s hard to criticize anyone for being too friendly. Maybe just be a little more considerate of someone else’s time.

Bed was a little too hard and the pillows were ancient (flat-no substance). Thank goodness I had the foresight to bring my own! Staff couldn’t tell the difference between someone asking for information and someone booking a room. I asked for information for my sister who is transitioning homes and needs a temporary place to stay until her new home is ready. The next day I was called by the Inn to confirm her reservation. I never made a reservation for her so told them to cancel it. On the plus side, staff was gracious, room quiet, and the breakfast plentiful. Lots of charm and atmosphere. I would stay again.
