A beautiful and luxurious hotel over looking picturesque Portovenere harbour. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. Amazing buffet breakfast, meals and bar. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Highly recommend this hotel to use as your base to explore Cinque Terre region. You can access the villages by ferry from front of hotel or by train from La Spezia.

This hotel was excellent for many reasons. The staff made sure that we got everything we needed. Food was excellent and restaurant staff was very attentive. The area is convenient for walking to restaurants, shops , and sights. Also, you can take the ferry to Cinque Terre across from the hotel.

The bathrooms left a lot to be desired. Gym is literally in an entirely different building. We also asked for a cab to be called to get back to the train station and it was literally 2x what it cost to get there.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Portovenere to explore Cinque Terre for three nights during our honeymoon. The hotel was well located for catching the bus or ferry, but doesn’t have a train station. Unfortunately the cost of transfers offered by the hotel to book were extortionate (400€ approx to Pisa Airport - a 1 hr 15 min journey). The ferry was running hourly until early evening during our stay, and we enjoyed seeing Cinque Terre from the sea. However, the trains between the villages are much quicker to use - it takes nearly 1.5hrs to get from Portovenere to Monterosso by ferry. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean. We had booked a room with a sea view, which was lovely. Although not necessarily expected, it was surprising that for a 5 star hotel, we weren’t provided with any extras for this being part of our honeymoon - the only hotel during our trip around Italy to not do so. The additional bottles of water provided each evening were appreciated. We did eat at the restaurant one night, which was a bit underwhelming, and we would recommend Porto 82 a few minutes walk away instead. However the view from the restaurant if you manage to get a table on the terrace is beautiful. We had breakfast on the terrace in the mornings, and it was the best we had during our Italy trip, particularly the freshly made to order eggs.

Lysande trevligt hotell med perfekt läge. Personalen är hjälpsam, trevlig och gör det där lilla extra för att man ska ha det bra. Trivs man inte här så rekommenderar jag att typ köpa godis, läsk, chips för pengarna eller att stanna hemma kan vara en god ide. Det här är kanon. Enjoy!

Das Zimmer entsprach von der Einrichtung dem Preis, aber nicht von der Größe. Das Bad ist sehr modern und geräumig. Der Ausblick auf den Innenhof war nicht schön. Sehr nett und kompetent war das Personal und die Lage am Rand der historischen Altstadt war spricht sehr für das Hotel. Eins sollte man dringend den Gästen vor der Anreise mitteilen: Die Einfahrt zur Garage ist sehr eng und nicht für größere PKWs geeignet. Andere Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es fußläufig quasi nicht. Dass die Parkgebühr nach einer abenteuerlichen Einfahrt in die notwendige Hotel-Parkgarage zudem erhoben wird, fühlt sich nicht gut an.
