The location is excellent. The hotel itself is lovely. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. Our corner room was very nice with a sitting room and windows that opened onto the square. We just returned from our Portugal adventure and this was our favourite hotel by far! We loved its character, history, and staff. The location is great for exploring, with restaurants, cafes, and the waterfront close-by. We especially appreciated the glass of port and pastel de nata's awaiting you not only when you arrive, but when you return at the end of the day. Our room was beautifully updated, clean, and comfortable, and on the quiet back-side of the building. They treated us to a spacious and quiet top floor room to celebrate our anniversary. The breakfast was amazing, with excellent variety. The staff here were the real stars... the front desk fellows were so warm and welcoming and always eager to share a recommendation.

Our stay at this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond when we arrived drenched from a torrential downpour. The glass of port and the welcome pastry were delicious. The room was confortable and the windows opened up on the courtyard…we even got to enjoy some live music from our room. Thank you for a lovely stay.
