The space was small, but efficient and you can see there are high end fixtures and windows, the air conditioning was more than adequate and they even have snacks and breakfast available. The room is quiet, and the windows open to the outdoors for that lovely breeze, they also have light cancelling shades that are amazing, and a huge king size bed, the owners let us check in 2hrs early at no extra cost!!! and the beach is a few minutes walk and well worth it.

This is one of the most exceptional places to stay in Portugal. It is wonderfully close to Matosinhos beaches and a beautiful place to relax and prepare for your holiday. The host is one of the nicest human beings on the planet - offering us port and cake on arrival, information about the area, and ensuring quality aspects to the entire lodging Wonderful coffee also on site. All around a place I highly recommend to anyone travelling to Portugal. Truly a gem to stay at!

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
We were incredibly disappointed with the Ocean Boutique Guest House. We had booked for 5 nights, left after one due to the poor facilities and room. It is not seaside...not even close. The ground floor rooms are tiny with no natural light, no fresh air. It's like staying in a jail cell. The windows are inches away from a busy sidewalk with people peering in, cars parking in front on the windows, the adjacent apt complex balconies peering in Zero privacy, the curtains had to be closed the entire time as well as the windows, no fresh air, no natural light. Felt like prison rather than vacation. The room is at the reservation desk..no lobby. Open your door onto the reservation desk. Breakfast is served immediately outside your door starting at 7 am in the same area. The workers and guests can be heard as if in your room. We unable to sleep due to the noise. The noise was throughout the day. Forget having a mid afternoon nap before dinner. We had 7 different areas for our month long vacation and this was by far the worst experience. The owner promised to refund for our unused nights, over 300 dollars. He has not refunded us. I can't say enough about how awful this experience was. Don't do it is my best most sincere and honest advice. The entire area is run down.

Joao is a very wonderful man, helpful with ideas of things to do around Porto. It is a very clean, refurbished, conveniently located property including an outstanding, non-continental breakfast. be sure to purchase it. A phone in the room would be helpful.
