Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel conditions are poor; room was smelly, bathroom shower walls were stained. Breakfast is served in a very small space, very crowded. We had to take the breakfast to our room.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental, no Eggs. Parking for my rental car was next door, easy to roll luggage in. Our room was very small (2 star hotel), but comfortable. Though the air conditioner broke on Saturday and they couldn’t get a technician to fix it on the weekend. Luckily, the window opened and there were no bugs, so we slept well. The neighborhood is run down, but only 2 streets from the Mercado and walking street (Catarina), and Metro stop.

Great area, within walking distance of everything of interest. The male receptionist was especially helpful, giving me information about tours and places of interest. The door came off my shower during my 2-night stay and unfortunately it was not replaced. Breakfast choice was very limited and there was nothing hot - not even toast was available.

Overall, our stay at the Sao Gabriel Hotel was disappointing. The hotel was being decorated and we left our room the first morning to be met by a building site. For a 4 night stay, we ended up having 3 different rooms (all below standard). There were some good points:- Breakfast was adequate, location was good and staff were friendly. I would not stay here again and am currently in contact with the online booking company regarding the standards that guests should expect from a hotel rated on their website.

This run. down flop house does not deserve to be listed. Broken furniture amenities not replaced room not cleaned in four days. Breakfast area too small to accomodate the number of guests.The only thing positive about the place is that the staff at the desk was very helpful and pleasant. As to the condition of the room I have pictures to back up my claim.

Gutes Frühstücksbuffet, solange die Dachterrasse zu ist, ist es aber sehr eng, ist im Sommer sicher kein Problem. Sauber, einfache aber ausreichende Ausstattung, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, gute Lage in der Altstadt. Nach den ersten Treppenstufen gibt es auch einen Aufzug. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Excelente localização. Podemos ir a pé a maior parte dos pontos turísticos. Poucos passos do shopping Via Catarina e Mercado do Bolhão. Quarto confortável e limpo, ótimo chuveiro, (só o aquecedor que achamos um pouco fraco). E sem falar no estacionamento gratuito que foi o principal. Funcionários bem atenciosos, com destaque para o recepcionista Paulo.
