A really lovely hotel in a great spot. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant great, especially the wine dinner. Getting to it my car was a bit scary with very narrow street but all part of the charm.

Pretty hotel situated high above the sea offering wonderful sea views from the second and third floors. Staff was very nice. You could walk to town but it was a distance, so uber is the way to go. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and breakfast very good.

We arrived during the national power cut. The hotel staff were very calm and reassuring. They were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable and couldn't have been more helpful. They left a bottle of wine in our room for a birthday celebration which was a lovely gesture. Would recommend the hotel to anyone. It is nearby all the local sights and restaurants.

Five-star service in a hidden location. The hotel has beautifully renovated a historic structure: the stone arches in the lobby are beautiful and atmospheric, with charming sitting areas for drinks. Rooms are modern with good beds and showers. Nice rooftop bar. Friendly staff. Plentiful breakfast buffet. A short walk to the Ribeira area with lots of restaurants etc. But the location is rather strange — down an alley that is marked as closed to vehicle access. Drivers with experience know to drive up to the entrance, but both our taxi and the Uber my sister took when we arrived didn’t know how to access the hotel and dropped us and our luggage in a random street about a block away. Other than that strange experience, it was a wonderful stay.

This hotel is beautiful. It’s on a quiet street close to the Alfadenga Congress conference building on the Douro river. The building is built into a stone wall and beautifully refurbished. It’s about 6 blocks central from the Central part of old Porto. But the shortest way is uphill. It was our favorite hotel of our trip.

This place is charming, relaxing, and beautiful. The bar and restaurant area are breathtaking. The place is just delightful. The bed was comfortable with soft linens. It was very clean and the whole hotel smelled wonderful. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The only complaint I had, and it is minor, is that the in-room coffee wasn’t great. The bar had amazing drinks. The rooftop and room balcony had wonderful views. It was very walkable, which was nice. Parking is a bit far away, but that is expected based on location. Highly recommend.

Fabulous in all respects, one of the best overall hotels we have enjoyed in Europe. Excellent rooms and facilities, and all staff were outstanding, friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was remarkable, well stocked and diverse. Our family had 3 rooms with balconies which we enjoyed sitting in the sun and drinking complimentary port. Conveniently located to attractions and parks in all directions within a 10 minute walk. Our one dinner there was excellent, tasty, beautifully prepared and delivered by friendly staff. We would come back again if we return to Porto.

We had a really lovely stay at this hotel. It's a little off the beaten path on a narrow stone street. The room was comfortable, large and clean. The view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff was very helpful for anything we needed and came by nightly to give us a fresh bottle of water and chocolates. The breakfast was excellent too.
