A 40min walk to centre of town/Ribeira, we got Uber back which wasn’t expensive. Ponte2 good for breakfast, 10 minute walk if you go through the park in the roundabout. Praça Boavista brilliant for dinner and walkable. Hotel bathroom is a bit of a squeeze to get in the shower and has a sliding glass door - so no good if you need the loo in the middle of the night and don’t want the light to wake your companion. Unfortunately this seems to be a popular option in Portugal and Spain now.

Stayed at Ala Sul for 4 nights. It is attached to the HF Tuela Hotel, and has the smaller rooms, but you have access to same reception, bar, and breakfast. Breakfast is excellent, tons of choice and different options each day. We stayed in a double room, it's small, and, for larger people, you may find the bathroom a squeeze, however the shower is excellent, bed is comfy, and Air conditioning is good so for a base to explore Porto it's good. Shower gel, body lotion, soap, shower cap provided and plenty of towels. Our teenage children had a twin room, which was a good size. Right next door to the hotel is a small shopping centre with a supermarket, Mango, and a few other shops (plus a Zara home 5 minutes stroll away)... within 2 minute walk to the right of the hotel, there is the mercado bom successo a large indoor food hall with tons of options for lunches and dinners, plus a bar. Open till 11 every day and 12 at the weekend, full of locals, well worth a visit... it's excellent. Porto centre is about 2.5km, c30 minute stroll or there are buses round the corner or Ubers are very cheap. Staff very friendly and helpful. Was able to leave bags before check in and check out. Decent base and glad we got to see Boavista as well as other parts of Porto

Ficamos na Ala Sul do hotel, porém não informa que não tem frigobar, algo simples para beber uma água durante a noite e principalmente em dias de chuva como foi na época da nossa estadia. O hotel tem um restaurante excelente e com preço dentro do padrão do Porto. Super recomendo, a recepção em nota 1000. Parabéns pelo atendimento.
