Its current markings of black with two yellow bands have been in place since 1954. The color of the light was changed from white to red on 1st July 1860. The tower was originally only 14m tall. It was extended to its current dizzying height of 40m in the 1880's and is now the tallest onshore lighthouse on the Irish coast. The lighthouse was automated in 1981. Very enjoyable stay, friendly welcome, nice room andvery nice food (especially Dinner in the Restaurant) Very nice scenic area. I strongly recommend having Dinner in the Restaurant - the food was really good.

Very friendly

Not much to look at as you drive up, Very friendly staff. Restaurant was very nice, lovely food and staff and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was very nice and cooked to order. Room was basic but clean and warm.

Great place to spend some nights .... Paul has it set up very well , also does amazing work in the Kitchen . All around a great experience there. I would recommend Pauls to anyone!

The accommodation was basic and clean. The breakfast was amazing. The disappointing thing was the picture on the website has been taken many years ago and the shower wouldn't work in our room, there was loose skirting board and when we flushed the toilet it put water up the shower outlet.

This place needs a lot of work done to it. The carpet was worn thread bare and dirty. The garden wasn't kept up either. The room was basic. It did have a coffee maker, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was good.

Lovely and relaxing stay!

Stayed 3 nights at Bellas Bistro. Had a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable stay. Paul the Manager was very friendly and professional throughout our stay. We had a lovely breakfast each morning, which was very scrumptious! I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Paul. 😊
