This is a beautiful historic hotel located in a pretty and quiet square in Ponta Delgada. A quick 5-minute walk puts you at the harbor and/or in the middle of old town. The hotel rooms were spacious and elegant. The pool and spa areas were lovely as well. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the included breakfast was delicious. Would happily book again if I return to Ponta Delgada.

A beautiful property which was once a hospital. We enjoyed the indoor heated pool and sauna as well as a very good breakfast. Try the yogurt with different toppings. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is ideally located too.

Very nice hotel located in the middle of the city center and super close to the airport - 10 min ride. Recently renovated it offers spacious rooms with great bedding quality. In the morning a buffet type breakfast is available with a great selection of products and even regional specialties. Overall great choice for anyone looking to be in the city close to restaurants, the harbor and activities after spending the day discovering the island. There are lots of parking spaces around the hotel allowing to park on the street for cheaper than the hotel option. Although in the summer time it might be a bit different with more people visiting.

Pros: Beautiful property. I love the concept of converting a historic hospital into a hotel. Very clean and comfy rooms. The staff is very helpful, and packed breakfast for us on our early departure day. Love, love, love the beautiful pool in the courtyard. Very clean/clear water in the ~20 meter pool. I was able to do some lap swims in a refreshing pool, it's not heated, just the way I like it. Cons: Breakfast can improve a bit, not a lot of variety. The egg/ pancake station is nice but slow and has a long line. Maybe more people needed working it? The toaster is a problem, one side not working the 3 breakfast we attended... Need an industrial, conveyor style toaster to meet the demand. Being a historic building, I wish there were more explanation or display of facts and information about the building and hospital.

Highly recommend this hotel. This hotel is well situated, about a 2 minute walk to center of town. Parking outside is metered from 8pm-7am, or hotel offers parking 10€ a day. Lot directly across the street is 6€ a day, or if you are ok to walk about 2 blocks- free parking on the street (ask hotel which streets, they will tell you) Clara, Tomas, Luis and Tugo really went above and beyond and help my cousin and I during our stay . Any time we needed assistance, they were happy to help us. We really appreciated the help with the room (Carla) help with the parking and restaurant suggestions (Tomas) lending an umbrella (Luis) help with drinks and poolside (Tugo) . Room was well appointed, as is normal for Europe, beds a slight bit stiff. Hair dryer great, shower water pressure great and warm. Had a refrigerator and safe. Windows looking out to the water (room 414) Floors set up interestingly- had to go up a flight of stairs to get to elevators - 4th on 2 different levels, split levels. Breakfast was excellent and well appointed. Plenty of food and options. They were great at refilling food. Spa was relaxing and very pretty. Suggestions for restaurants and sights:Recommend Cais da Sardinha , Bom Pesquiero for dinner, Tonys for traditional Cozidho (2pm 4pm seatings) go to Poca da Dona Beija for hot springs, dont waste your time at Terra Nosta. Overcrowding and lockers are nightmare. Worth seeing Vista do Rei, Boca do Inferno. Scuba, not the greatest visibility and water is cold.

Amazing property close to downtown Sao Miguel. Shopping and restaurants near by. Great front desk staff. Turkish baths were quite relaxing after long days of exploring this beautiful island. Rooms were spacious and very nice! Would definitely stay here again.
