The rooms were brand new in 1970 and have not been renovated since I don’t think. The bathroom was in desperate need of renovation. And we laughed about the “behind curtain #1” the air conditioner. Beds were clean, property was quiet and the staff in the restaurant were awesome. It was a spot to sleep, so it was ok but far from 3*. It was an experience. Old school motel.

The staff were super terrific and friendly. The rooms leave much to be desired. The bed was really terrible forcing my husband and I to constantly collide in the middle. There wasn't a fridge in the room so we ended up having to throw out our food. The room was as clean as it could be probably for how run down it was. The site and location - beautiful!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Mountain View Motel & Cottages in Pleasant Bay. The location is fantastic, offering beautiful views and easy access to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, hiking trails, whale watching, and the scenic Cabot Trail. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the peaceful surroundings after a day of exploring. The staff 👍 were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. There was very little to dislike. The property is more rustic than a modern hotel, but that fits perfectly with the charm and character of Pleasant Bay. Guests looking for a luxury resort experience should keep that in mind.
