“The Monastery Estate is a beautifully restored family house in the tiny village of Moni, not far from Sougia and the sea. It's an incredibly peaceful, intimate place with comfortable, quirky, stylish rooms and large patios. The view over to the White Mountains is breathtaking and there is great hiking nearby. We were extremely well looked after by Katerina and Marianne - nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful with local suggestions. Highly recommended! ”

They really are very small hotel, familial style but they do their best to provide high level services: multiple pool, breakfast, sun towels. Amazing quality for price. I rarely write reviews but their work needs to be recognized. The only con of this hotel, despite what is written on Hotels.com, it's very remote in the moutain and far from Paleochora, so I recommend if you need to rest 2-3 days in a super...

“I absolutely loved my stay here. The location is beautiful, nestled into the mountains and a short drive to Samaria Gorge and the White Mountains. There is an incredibly sweet local/rural vibe that feels very safe to walk around and see the local goats and sheep. The breakfast and meals here are incredible, some of the best meals I had in Crete. The rooms are basic but very clean.”

“Chose this spot as a place to stay overnight before visiting Elafonisi Beach. Nice suite for a little mountain getaway. Met some nice people and the host was very friendly. No amenities in the village so you need to drive about 5 minutes to get some food. Some good places to eat nearby. The only complaint would be some noisy neighbours who were up until 2am stomping around doing who knows what. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.”
